I personally don't like it much either.. to me, an old fantasy user, the Potter saga looks like a jumble of someone else's ideas put together in a not very original way.. still, the global success and the enormous turn over it generates (it's like well over 600 million copies sold, goddammit) says the contrary. A mediocre saga for mediocre times, perhaps?

Also JKR is, at the best, a very controversial individual.. I don't like her instinctively, it's not the kind of face that inspires me trust or that invites me to get closer, so to say.
