Moorish Strategy

I started a M/H Moorish campaign and I am finding it quite difficult to fight western factions. I have eliminated Spain and Portugal and have most of North Africa, but I need to advance into former France (which is now, Milan/England) and their knights and heavy cavalry are just so much better than mine.
Anyone got any insights on playing as the Moors? :hmmm:

I feel your pain, man, I'm at the SAME stage as you, with the Moors.

I wiped out the Spanish/Portuguese in only 20 turns and I had all of Africa secured, minus the Holy Land.

Unrest hasn't been a major problem, strangely enough, my originally Islamic lands, like Algiers, are the only real revolts I've seen, but I dousted it quickly with my powerful army.

Here's my deal. I'm at turn 140, I've had North Africa and Iberia secured for over 200 years and I've been at war with France for the last 150 years. I'm currently trading gold in Timbuktu and have an alliance with the Mongols.

I've just discovered America, so I'm planning on just sailing there and feeding off its resources until I have the might to squeeze out the French.

My current strategy is to conquer Rome and sell it to the Mongols!

Whatever you do, the Mongols are your friends! Yes! Use them to wreak havoc on your European enemies. Take Milanese and French land and give it to the Mongols!

My current status:
1. I am also trading gold/ivory down there
2. I have the whole Iberian peninsula, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and North Africa up to Egypt and Jerusalem.
3. The thing is in my game, I am in average relations with the Mongols. I originally captured Baghdad with a Jihad army and the Mongols appeared right next turn next to it so I fled and captured Jerusalem.
4. I am only at turn 110 or so.
5. My infantry doesn't have the greatest morale as u well know, and my heavy cav sucks.

Christian Knights and dismounted christian knights. The dismounted knights are better then the dismounted knights others get. Combine your mounted knights with those super camel gunners, and you'll rip up everything.
