Interesting as i felt that all unit are dealing somewhat lackluster damage except for cavalry with powerful charge.

You should be killing your enemy by routing them right?

You will all now vote on the next unit that you want broken down and analyzed. This time we take a look at some rather reluctant fighters.

In many locations during the Hellenistic Era, there were most certainly men who willingly fought either for glory, loyalty or for gold. However, the truth remains that the bulk of most armies were mustered using men who would rather till their fields and ply their trades in the urban centres and in the rural countrysides than fight for causes that they had little to no true stake in.

You have until the 29th of October to do so.

You will all now vote on the next unit that you want broken down and analyzed. This time, you will pick not a particular unit but a particular cultural group when, at the end of the vote, I will put out a random unit from the winning group. If a lot of people vote this time, you may find an elite unit put up for the week, if not you only get the scraps.....

The total vote thresholds are as follows:
    1. Low tier unit (15 or less)
    2. Mid Tier unit (between 16 and 25)
    3. High Tier unit (More than 25)

You will have until the 5th of November to cast your vote!

These are really interesting, thanks for the effort.... If I could submit a personal request, I would love to see Basternai Draugai covered. I think they are useful, but find it difficult to use them well and they often end up being a bit of a sacrificial unit for me!

    @mckeen, @Cleitus the Pink

TWC has a 10 attachment per post limit and a 10MB cap on individual uploads (These analyses take up quite a bit of space, even when compressed) and there are always room for improvement for all the analyses. So my advice is, download them as soon as they come up!

We are rather busy at the moment both in the office and in life, this rather conveniently leads on to a public announcement that we are very excited to make:

We are currently compiling the very first volume of a proper release of the Europa Barabrorum 2 In-Depth Unit Analyses with endorsement from the Devs, this volume will have around 100 units or so contained within, coming soon with the festive season!

All that we ask is your feedback and your patience!

EDIT: Past Analyses can now be downloaded via MEGA.

If all these of this is so that you can create a valuable compendium, may I offer a suggestion?

For units with visual armor upgrades, can you include images like these so that they can be compared and contrasted with? It's quite lovely to see the crafted models for these.

ColchIan Hoplites are not suitable for the Caucasus landscape. They are an Colchian warriors in hellenistic armour for general battle. For the landscape of the Caucasus - better is Colchian skrimsher/axemans with round leather shields and Colchian spearmens with similar of hittite long leather shields and short Spears . (Xenophont writes - in Colchian tribes Had leather long shields like a lasting of the leaf, also round little leather shields ) .

The most famous of the Caucasian peoples are the Iberians (now Georgians), they were deeply invaded in Asia Minor. They must include the Meskhetians (Moschoi, Mushki) and Tiberians (Tabal-Tubal), who occupied Cappadocia after the fall of the Hittite kingdom and marched from there to the Tigris region. (The same opinion is expressed by V. Georgiev from Bulgaria, Acad. Arnold Chikobava, etc.)

The embers of Hellenism are fading, invaders constantly poke at her borders and her children squabble among themselves. Although the spirit of Hellas holds strong, her fortunes dip and her people and culture fade with each new year, but fortune can be a fickle thing, the Hellenes have spread their wings far and wide, perhaps a new Alexander or Leonidas can rise from the shadows and bring order where there is chaos.
