Hiding RoR recruitment button

I'd like to hide the RoR recruitment button when the selected character is outside of the starting province.

The game already hides it when the character is outside of your territory, so I thought it would be fairly simple to do but I'm drawing a blank.
I haven't found anything in the db-files and I don't know how to mod using lua-scripting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this is likely to be hardcoded. You could probably script something to change it, but this means new skills to learn.
