CTD with papal_states
Hello there!I recently made the papal_states a normal faction, disabling the pope mechanics. But when I besiege and attack a settlement controlled by this factions, the game crashes.System.log does not show anything. What could be the problem? Thanks for the replys.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the papal_states faction that causes crashes when their settlements are taken. In fact, there is nothing special about the faction name "papal_states", it's the papal_faction tag in descr_sm_factions that makes them special in the vanilla game (but that tag also doesn't cause crashes). There are, however, a huge number of things that could be causing a crash when capturing a settlement. The most common is the BecomesFactionLeader crash.

This bug is not present in other mods, and yes, it has nothing do with papal_faction. It occurs right before battle deployment screen.

If the crash occurs while loading into the battle, then it's most likely due to something the game is trying to render on the battle map. This is usually caused by missing assets such as projectiles, engines, etc. and the log usually gives pretty good hints about what's missing even if it doesn't explicitly say what the problem is.
