    Default Lotharingia Total War

I would like to present a friend´s idea and I would like to know if some of you guys would be interested in taking part of this project.
In special people who have any experience in modding, any help is welcome.

    1-Objective:
to make a Total War mod based on the historical events regarding the Low Countries , Northern France ( Paris/ Lille/Metz), Western Germany (Hannover/ Stuttgart) and part of England. (Sussex/Kent/Surrey/Middlesex/Hertfordshire/Essex/Suffolk/Cambridgeshire and Norfolk)
it is intended to work with the noble families and dynasties which were important during this period.
The player is supposed to be the head of one of those families and the mod is intended to work out the family´s survival and power.

    2- Contents
----It is set to start on 1080 and to end in 1250 ( To be decided)
    ---7 different cultures (by now)
    French
    Flemish
    Lotharingian
    Dutch
    German
    Anglo-Normand
    Latin ( Ecclesiastical Principalities)

    ---- Factions

    1. Ecclesiastical Principalities ( representing the Pope and the important dioceses like Lille, Cambrai, Reims, Troyes, Langres, Laon, Beauvais, Noyon-Tournai, Châlons-en-Champagne
    2. Frankish Dynasty ( Emperor´s faction )
    3. House of Flanders ( County of Flanders and Hainaut)
    4. Capetian House (king of France´s faction)
    5. 5-House of Normandie- ( William the Conqueror´s faction in England and the Duchy of Normandy)
    6. House of Louvain ( counties of Louvain and Brussels)
    7. House of Holland ( county of Holland)
    8. House of Lorraine ( duchy of Lorraine and High Lotharingia)
    9. House of Rethel ( county of Rethel)
    10. House of Berthout (Lordship of Mechelen)
    11. House of Looz (county of Looz)
    12. House of Blois ( county of Champagne)
    13. House of Wassemberg (county of Gueldre)
    14. House of Billung ( duchy of Saxony)
    15. House of Warren ( county of Surrey)
    16. House of Enghien ( castle of Enghien)
    17. Rebels

    Agents
Troubadour – it would substitute the priest and would promote the faction´s culture)

    Some ideas
    Navigable rivers
Royal and familiar blood – to have a trait if the character is a bastard
    AOR troops (e.g. Flemish Knights)
Some families will be another one´s vassal, the only real independent factions will be the Holy Empire and the Kingdoms of France and England
Noble titles given to a character that spends 2 tours at one particular place.
A script to add historical revolts
The rebel regions will be named according to the family that governed it

Sounds like a nice idea! Just no javelinmen troops.

    Hello sullivanclan1
Thank you very much for posting here.
About javelin men units, according to what has been researched, the javelin was used by light infantry and militia in the 13th century. It used to be thrown against enemies who weren´t wearing any armor or cuirass. The javelin was also used by the knights at jousting and to harass enemy troops. Therefore the javelin was used in those regions which will be presented on this mod. Another thing, it is known that the Basques and Gascons have improved the art of throwing the javelin, So maybe some mercenary javelinmen units might also be added to the troops.

Yes, this would be interesting. It has "Kingdom of the Scots" vibes, though hopefully with a better outcome. Perhaps 1648 is a better comparison, and also a good reference point to work with as far as mechanics and ideas to see this idea through.
With great power, comes great chonky dragons to feed enemies of the state. --Targaryens?
    Spoiler for wait what dragons?
