    Default Thank an American day

Today is D-Day, known in Europe (particularly France and England) as "Thank an American for saving us day". I'd like to give all of our European users an opportunity to thank me and my fellow Americans for saving you all those years ago.

Thank you Akar and your fellow countrymen for personally seeing that none of that Nazi crap would fly anymore in Europe. I remember that those were some scary-ass days with actual effing Nazis on one side and a bunch of commies on the other. But then, in came Akar and his American GI buddies and saved the day. Risking their lives for our benefit.

I am very happy that you made it and that I have the opportunity to thank you personally and Americans collectively.

I'd thank the guys responsible for bringing the Americans into the war but Pearl Harbour Day is December 7th

The sheer number of WW2 veterans, particularly American, Canadian, and Australian ones, on historically-themed message boards never ceases to amaze me. Your countries must have amazing healthcare systems given how many of you are still around and talking about how tough it was back then when you kicked the asses of those Netzis and Japs.

Romania, was it? Pardon me if I remember wrong. It must have been a disappointment, but things can probably only get better nowadays.

Out of the former Eastern Bloc countries, I have only been watching Estonia closely in my lifetime, but seeing that country rise from the post-Soviet misery into a tiny tech giant and an absolute beauty of a country has probably been the most inspiring experience in my life.

Well, i guess the dark wizard avatar can make me look a bit transylvanian? Im really honored, but in reality im from the plain old Poland. Also, im taking a bit of a piss with the resentment, this is TD at the end of the day.

Ive never travelled eastwards of my country, only south and west. Estonia sounds like both east and north and that is concerning! Anyway good for them, ive known only one single estonian in my life but he was weird, he was also an alcoholic so i never took him for a perfect representation of... anything.

It is the wee Settra who is from Romania. He will also be liberated in time.

Thank you, America, for having been a part of killing my gramp. We deserved this, and still do.

    Happy soonish™ Independence Day.

Fascinating how your eugenic program can be on point in foreign countries, but so bad at home.

I propose a "Thank France for the Metric System Day". Now that would be actual progress...

Hey Akar you ignored my response, which is very rude from you. But just in case you didn't see my very kindhearted post and because I'm so funny I'll just quote myself again:
