DEI working well and your experience in Imperator Augustus and Empire Divided?

Hi all,

First things first I love your work creators, DEI is incredible!

Having spent hundreds of happy hours playing (mostly roman) grand campaigns I’m looking for some variety both in units, location, time period etc, ideally a campaign in the East.

Hence I’m interested in playing the DLC again, so my question is have the DLC been given the full DEI treatment and what are people’s experience on how its working?

I tried an ED Palmyra game for instance and it all seems to work and is stable but it def wasnt as good as a main campaign game leading me to think it may not be fully DEI ready?

Specific examples are that the unit cards dont seem to have been redone (not a patch on the beautiful GC ones!). unit formation options didnt seem right, Palmyra Spearmans short pike phalanx didnt seem to work, no disciplined formation for cohors etc. Also i did not seen to be able to liberate or subjugate citys, making Palmyra’s isolated start v hard. AM missing something or has ED just not been done yet? Or are these Vanilla issues with ED?

If not is the IA DLC any better? What would ppl recommend trying?

ED has not yet been done, it would take few years to get it to main campaign standards. It does have most of systems in place but units are vanilla, balance is off, there are no reforms and such.

Thanks Kam, thats what I figured you can feel the lack of the DEI finesse!

How about the Imperator Augustus campaign is that the same or has that been done?

Imperator Augustus should be fine as it uses similar timeframe to Grand Campaign. We might at one point add or change some factions to spice it up like Kushans.
