Adding More Bulding Slots ?

I'm playing as the knights of st john and want more building slots, it's ridiculous I can't build an admiralty.

I was going to follow this guide:

however the first instruction mentions this file:

1) First backup the following files that we are going to edit:
· startpos.esf (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data\campaigns\main)

and in the DME folder there are multiple campaign folders.

I don't fully understand how darthmod is implemented; will following the instructions to add more buildings slots work with darthmod the same as vanilla, or do I need to edit different files ?


I'm hesitant to just follow the instructions for vanilla incase it crashes my game.
