    Default [Decision] Remove the Rostra

Originally the Rostra was created to allow non-citizens to write proposals and have them supported by enough citizens to move to vote. The forum was used briefly in 2015 for four threads and then never used again.

Frankly I'd consider it an irrelevant part of curial history, best kept as a note in the histories such as the Wiki's Curia page than adding to administrative scrolling space. Today's Proth does the identical job. The threads would have notations/prefixes and be moved to the main Prothalamos archive, while the section would be removed.

Or merge it with Prothalamos and rename it to Rostra.^^

As prothalamos is simple an entrance hall to a representative building in greek.

Supplicants are humble waiting in the prothalamos till the arrival of their mas..., ehm patrons.

But the unused Rostra should dissolved anyways.

The Rostra has already been removed a couple years ago and is currently archived. If you want it deleted permanently, I think Hex can do that without a decision.

This isn't about deleting it, just moving the archive from its own archived subforum and integrating it into the Proth

If Hex feels the Rostra can just be removed, they have the Consul's support at least. This proposal removes the forum and merges its contents into the Proth archive. I would consider it the remit of the Curia vote since it's part of a Curia structure; not something for me to just request in my capacity as Consul or Hex to just decide to pitch out of hand.

But if there's a majority interest and a member of Hex agrees, well. It's not mentioned in the Constitution and just exists because it was never fully removed. Not a refusal in sight and really, there's not much to argue anyways. So if a member of Hex would like to just do it (merge off, then remove the section) we could call it done and I can archive this thread early.

Support. No point to keep an unecessary subforum, even in the archives. As said in the Townhall, just add "Rostra - ..." in front of these 4 threads' titles and then everybody can see where they're from.

I disagree because if what Iskar said is accurate then the TWC Living History forum is the right place to move the Rostra forum to and having a proposal about it seems needless IMO.

No, they're aren't because they're basically just proposals. We don't archive proposals in that forum as far as I know

Frankly I think the archived subforums within the Curia proper could use a good looking at of their own, in time. The more subforums we have littered around, the less organized the site ultimately is. A parodox, but there we have it.

There is no standard procedure to handle defunct forums. In this case I strongly push removal because it is not worth saving for 4 threads that have a rightful new home per Lifthrasir's suggestion.

While it looks more like a misunderstanding at play, I guess the fact we slightly bogged down is reason to call it a proposal >.>

To be honest and not to sound 'odd' but this is a bit of a test, using the simplest thing I could conceive. Given the bit of discussion and the lack of harm in letting it play out, I think doing just that would be fine.

    ----------

Let me spare a few thoughts on the Living History section per the constitution. A little off topic and if it expands I'll divide into its own discussion appropriately.

I do intend to push boundaries a bit across the term. Among other things I'd actually like a few volunteers to help take a look at the Living History section. As for the line,

I intend to take it seriously. I believe the best path to this end is to make the information as clear as possible. Working on and improving the current index, possibly a bit of busywork on the threads themselves, and securing a timeline. Perhaps inviting some additions to the personal records. The Rostra, a subdivision of the Prothalamos, is a bit of a different subject to me. It is a strict archive of proposals since whenever, tied in to the main body. I do not believe it is worth moving or even duplicating threads from the Prothalamos and related to the Living History section, and I'd only encourage 'homeless' threads pulled from areas the membership already cannot see to add in the section's ranks. Snatching it from full membership's view is inappropriate to me. If a section is defunct it should be available. It should just be concise about it and if it never had much in the first place, I do not see the point in keeping the layout.

At stake here is two forums (the 'main area' and the Rostra's own archive with its 4 threads). A section that never really added much and has a single sentence to add to the history.

Actually it does, because you said "Rostra" was created by the Curia.

Not everything created by the Curia goes to the Living History Forum, does it?

There is nothing in the Constitution mandating all obsoleted Curia content need go to the Living History Forum; indeed, what little it says effectively puts discretion over that forum in my hands.

To be clear: if these are moved to the Living History, then I'll oppose. Again, these are proposals, not threads about the Rostra itself.
For Leonardo's attention, the Proth used to be in the Capitol together with the Curia and the Rostra under the Curator responsability. To follow your logic, all archives related to the Curia would need to be relocated in the Living History sub-forum, which sounds a bit... odd IMO.
