That's a face only a mother could love, so I guess Sauron was his mother.

So then Sauron is your eccentric uncle who hides up in his room all day in a tower, spying on people below like a birdwatcher?

Maybe that's where Flinn has been this whole time, perched atop the great fortress tower of Barad-dur (aka Leaning Tower of Pisa).

Calling it the Learning Tower of Pisa is just a gimmick to make the place seem interesting to tourists. There was absolutely nothing to learn there. Besides, they must have botched the construction somehow or at least picked a bad spot for the tower. The damn thing looks like it is going to topple in no time. Typical of Italy.

    Ah, that was the intent!

But then a bunch of pesky british engineers came and fixed it, and now it's not gonna fall anymore

ps imagine being an insurance company and being asked to insure the Tower of Pisa .. "well, no, thanks but no"

"The bell tower that's been leaning but hasn't fallen for nearly 700 years and the Italian government is invested in ensuring doesn't fall over, ruining future tourism revenue and destroying a "long standing" icon that represents Italy in the minds of thousands? Sure!"

It took me a while to realize it was a comedy . Some weird stuff in the subtitles for sure.

Amici Miei was a set of three comic movies from 70's and 80's, with some of the best actors and directors Italy ever had (and some guests, such as Philippe Noiret).. thought they are intended to be comic movies, they have a lot of criticism towards the usual Italian mediocrity and our vices (in particular regarding sex and the relation with the other sex.. at a first look they are sexist movies, but if you carefully pay attention you'll see than, one way or the other, Italian women always win over Italian males).

Sadly it's impossible to properly dub such movies, there's a lot of dialect being used which is functional to the jokes they make, and also a lot of regional references which cannot be transferred.. but the movies are great, worth watching them if you have a real knowledge of Italian language and culture (which makes me think.. that I probably have to include some scenes from them in our Italian class ... )
