Flinn didn't really vanish, that's an illusion. He's just being a showoff and practicing his magician skills. Also, he's an invisible sorcerer, so that's kind of frightening, especially since he's Italian! Just imagine being a woman around him, all those random whistles and unseen wandering hands covered in olive oil.
