How to change Porthole of Vanilla Lord
Hi guys, i‘m just getting into modding and believe this should be simple. But i couldn’t figure it out myself yet:
I want to change the porthole of one of the empire generals and replace it with a porthole from a mod.
i thought i‘d just import the modded porthole and name it the same way as the vanilla porthole i want to replace (so like emp_general_01.png)
Everything works, and general_01 shows up with the modded porthole. Unfortunately also all other generals, even though i didn’t replace their png file.
Any ideas what i‘m missing?
Thanks alot!

Campaign or custom battle?
What file did you replace, in what folder?

Re: How to change Porthole of Vanilla Lord
i care mainly about campaign, but the way i did it seems to have 'worked' for both.
I added ui > portraits > portholes > wh_main_empire to the mod.
I named the new porthole the same as the vanilla empire general, so emp_generals_campaign_01_0.png. (i thought that way it should only replace the general with the empire knight helmet (01), instead it replaces the portholes of all generals)
Thanks for your help!

it should work, that's also what I'm doing generally. Maybe post your mod?

Duh, i solved it the variantmeshes were not right. They all had the new head because i copy pasted the new general and forgot to replace the heads again. Didn‘t think the variantmeshes would affect the portholes..
But thank you anyway!
