Default 2020 Modding Awards - Rules Thread

THE RULES There will be a single public nomination thread, here players can nominate mods or modders that they would like to see move through to the voting stage and be in with a chance of winning. Later on we will group up the nominations according to the category and group they belong to. Every mod can be nominated as long as they meet the eligibility criteria for this year's edition and a valid link within TWC is provided (those without will be discounted without further notice). Also, if a mod does not have a clear release date listed anywhere, it will not be considered eligible.

Modders reserve the right to ask for their mod or themselves not to be considered for nominations for any award category. If this is the case please PM me so I can remove any nominations of your mod and make a note to inform people that your mod/yourself cannot be nominated.

On top of that, there is no need to nominate a mod more than once, if you notice someone else has nominated a mod you wished to nominate as well. Once a mod is nominated just once, it will be included in the awards no matter how many nominations it gets from different users.

You can give up to 5 nominations per category per each game; only full members (minimum 25 posts and 1 week membership) can nominate.

    Few more secondary rules:

    - Different releases of the same mod cannot be nominated in the same category; if a mod has more than one update (or is released and then updated) in 2020, then only the version that receives more nominations will be included in the polls.
    - You are not allowed to post in the poll threads who you have voted for. If you do, your votes will be disqualified

The nomination period will last a minimum of three weeks. It can be extended at the discretion of the Modding Awards Committee.

    IMPORTANT NOTICES:
    1. for the Committee's awards, no nomination is requested, as those awards (Committee's Favorite Mod and Modder, specifically) will be assigned on the discretion of the Committee.
    2. to be eligible for the New Modder category, a modder must not have released any mod or tool before 1/1/2019. It is possible that a modder will be nominated/win in this category and in any other regular Favorite Modder category, as nominating people in this new category does not mean that they are not eligible for the regular Favorite Modder categories as well.
    3. For the 2020 edition we have kept the Favorite Tool & Resource for TW2 Engine, the Favorite Tool & Resource for Warscape Engine, the Favorite Tool & Resource maker for TW2 Engine and the Favorite Tool & Resource maker for Warscape Engine categories. Classical categories (mods or modders) are going to be included as well since they are biennial awards.
    4. Due to lack of mods and active modders the Fantasy Category (Warhammer 1 & 2) has been removed; the Committee will keep in mind this fact when making their choices for the Committee's Awards.
    5. Troy is a relatively new title, none the less some material has been released for it, therefore it has been included in the Steel Category for this edition.
    6. For the Favorite Classical categories (either mods or modders), please remember that said award can be won only once, therefore before nominating any mod for those categories please check the Hall of Fame and before nominating a modder remeber to check his awards (in the member's profile page or under his avatar in any regular post).
    7. Remember: to be eligible for the Classical category a mod cannot have any update later than 31/12/2018, to be eligible for the Classical category a modder must not have released any new mod or tool later than 31/12/2018.

THE AWARDS - Mods that come in the first 3 positions for each category will have the right to show medal graphic for their mod as well as having their mod entered into the Hall of Fame.

    - The first 3 positions of the Favorite Modder award will receive a medal, as well having their name entered into the Hall of Fame.

    - The 2 Mod Spotlight sections on the TWC Wiki Main page will be given for 3 Months to one of the winners of the Favorite mod/overhaul for one of the main categories (to be chosen at random) and to one of the winners of the Favorite submod/minor mod for one of the main categories (to be chosen at random).

    - The medals available to win, kindly provided by Akar (Classical Modder medal is by Lifthrasir):

FAQ Q) Can modders nominate their own work?
    A) Of course! As people should be voting for their favorite mod we would hope modders would at least nominate their own work, it shows they have enjoyed working on it.

    Q) Can modders advertise the awards?
    A) Yes, anyone is allowed to advertise the awards, in terms of getting the word out that they are going on. However, while any case of anyone explicitly asking for votes for themselves will not automatically result in disqualification, it is at the discretion of Hex and the Modding Awards Committee in the end. Anyone may advertise the awards as a whole as well as express that they or their mod are indeed a part of the awards, but explicitly asking for votes is generally forbidden and might lead to disqualification if this will be the decision of the Committee.

    Q) What is the specific time period for 2020?
    A) Any where from 00:00 GMT on the 01 Jan 2020 up and including 23:59 on the 31 Dec 2020.

    Q) What counts as a 'mod'?
    A) For the purpose of these awards any public file that was released or updated in 2020 that can be downloaded from TWC or has a thread/forums on TWC that links to a download location that makes any change to any version(s) of the game or its expansions or downloadable content.

    Q) Who counts as a 'modder'?
    A) For the purpose of these awards anyone who is a registered member of TWC and in 2020 has publicly released or updated, or has worked on a public release or update (for example as part of a modding team) for, a mod. While not required, it may be helpful to others considering nominations/voting to link to a modder's more prominent and popular mods for reference. With regards to the Favorite Tool & Resource maker categories, in order to be eligible for them, a modder must have released at the least one tool, resource, etc during 2020.
