I don't know about Rome I, but I will say that I much prefer the battles in Medieval II because I can use the slow motion toggle to make them play at a very slow and comfortable speed, and with sound. In Rome 2, even using the slow motion, which is not adjustable as it is in Medieval 2, the battles are much to fast for me, especially the cavalry charges, and I just can't keep up with the tremendous pace of the click fest. Furthermore, in Rome 2 if one toggles slow motion, the proper sounds effects disappear.
BTW, could someone please tell me if Rome I has a way to slow battles down in increments of .1 normal speed as Medieval 2 does? If so, I will buy it and start playing the new Roma Surrectom/RTR mod.

Roland searched the continent for the man who'd done him in
He found him in Mombasa in a barroom drinking gin
Roland aimed his Thompson gun. He didn't say a word
But he blew Van Owen's body from there to Johannesburg

One simple, yet very important factor for me;
I can actually play Rome 1/Remastered on my PC. I don't have the specs to handle 2.
Rome 2 has lower requirements than Remastered.
ROME 2 / ATILLA RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 7*
Processor: 2nd Generation Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 5870
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 35 GB available space
Additional Notes: PC integrated graphics chipsets require 64 bit Windows, e.g. Intel HD series.
Rome Remastered RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit (version 20H2)
Processor: Intel Core i5-4570 | Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 4GB | AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 45 GB available space
Additional Notes:
* Estimated performance on High settings at 1080p : 60 FPS
* Framerate may drop in large-scale, graphics-intensive battles
Because of the map!
Simply best Total War Game for me but not in Original the Mods make it to my first place
Rome 1 is better because things like this are released 20 years later: https://github.com/MuaazH/RTW_SCRIPT...e/main/scripts
