This is the submission/nomination thread for MAARC LXXXIX!

    Eligibility

Two updates are needed since April 1, 2021.

    Only one entry per person.
Please note that entries with more than one author are considered to be entries for all the co-authors.
If one of the co-authors of a submission wants to submit an AAR they have written individually, they may do so,
but WS staff will withdraw the co-authored AAR from the competition if this happens.

The writer who took first place in the previous competition cannot enter this one.

Only work that is posted on TWC is eligible to enter.

Writers' Study Staff have discretion to disqualify nominations where it would be unfair to allow them to enter, for example in cases of plagiarism.

If you have a question or want to check whether an entry is eligible, please send a private message to a member of the Writers' Study Staff.

    Advertising

Advertising the competition is allowed. Inviting people to submit their writing is okay.

Asking for votes for a particular submission is not allowed and will result in disqualification.

Breaking the rules will result in measures at the discretion of the Writers' Study Staff.

    Submissions

Authors are encouraged to submit their own work.

To enter, post on this thread with all of the following information:
    • the author's name
    • the title (with a link to the thread)
    • a short description/teaser
    • the game(s) used
    • details (if applicable) of mod(s) used
    • details (if applicable) of faction

If you want to nominate someone else's AAR, you must ask for (and obtain) their permission before posting the nomination.

    Voting

Six entries are needed to run a regular competition.

If, after a month, we have fewer than six entries, then we wait until there are three or more submissions.

    Awards

    • 4 points for the Winner
    • 3 points for Second Place
    • 2 points for Third Place

If the competition has fewer than six entries, then first place will receive three points and second place will receive two.

Where a co-authored AAR wins Writers' Study Competition points, those points will be divided between all the co-authors equally. If that division results in each author receiving a fraction of a point, then each author will receive no points for a fraction less than one-half, or 1 point for a fraction of one-half or more.
For instance, if 3 points are divided between 2 authors, dividing the points equally gives each author one and a half points. The half is rounded up, so each author actually receives 2 points.

Points are accumulated towards the awarding of the Writers' Study Competition Medals.

    • 6 points - bronze medal
    • 12 points - silver medal
    • 24 points - gold medal

    Hello;
If it possible, I'd like to submit my AAR. This is my first time participating so Im looking forward to receive feedbacks and suggestions.
    - Author name: me - A Random Totalwar Player (Le Minh)
    - Title: DEI Epirus Legendary Campaign - link: https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...ndary-Campaign
    Link to youtube playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...NYfxoio_fXBRij
    - In this campaign, we will play as Pyrrhos of the Epirus in his struggle against the Roman. Can we help him achieve victory in the Pyrrhic war, to bring glory to the mighty Epirus?
We will play with the fantastic mod Divide et Impera of TW Rome 2, on legendary difficulty. Our objective is to defeat the Roman, bring glory to Epirus. It will be a real challenge.
    - Game used: Totalwar Rome 2.
    - Mod used: Divied et Impera and some other graphic mods.
    - Faction: Epirus.
Its my hobby to make gameplay videos and post them on Youtube, but this let's play is actually the first series I work on seriously. My English is not very good and Im trying to improve so my commentary might sound a little bit weird, also my video editing skill. I hope to receive feedbacks and suggestions from you to be able to improve myself. Thank you very much.

Well, I lost the last month's MAARC, so I guess I'll re-roll my tale in this one. Besides, with two video AARs here, there seems a need for some text-heavy storytelling

    Author: Kilo11
Title: Written in Sand (current update)
    Game: Medieval II
    Mods Used:Europa Barbarorum II
    Faction Played: Nabataeans
    Description:

During his short life Alexander carved an empire out of the east, but within only years of his death his generals had shattered that sprawling realm. Now they fight like dogs over scraps, taking what they can, and in the shadow of their petty rivalries other powers are seeking to rise.

In the deserts of Arabia the Nabati have begun binding the tribes together, to create a vast confederation that might stand against the over-reaching Greeks. Mun'at Ha'Qadri, foremost general of the Nabati has already brought numerous clans into the fold. He has used words, gold, and brute force to bend the wills of the proud desert peoples to a single purpose, the defense of Arabia. However, while he goes about his noble purpose, the Saba', new allies of the Nabati, are facing a civil war in their lands. Mun'at will not aid the Saba', and in the knowledge of that fact, the Saba' Queen Mubsamat is doing everything in her power to break the rebels' might.

    Author: Derc
Title: Derc Plays Through World History
Games: TW Medieval 1, Rome: Alexander, Shogun 2: Rise of the Samurai, Medieval 2 Kindgoms: Britannia, Rome2: Imperator Augustus, Attila, Attila: The Last Roman, Napoleon, Rome 2: Caesar in Gaul, Rome 2: Rise of the Republic, Medieval 2 Kingdoms: Teutonic
Mods: XL Mod for Med 1, various smaller UI mods for Rome 2
Factions: Golden Horde, Macedon, Kamakura Minamoto, Scotland, Pompey's Rome, Huns, Roman Expedition, France, Arverni, Syracuse, Norway
    Desc:
'Derc Plays Through World History' has come to an end. Even though we only managed to play about one third of Total War, we made a lot of memories. The Mongols have invaded Europe. Alexander defeated the Persians against all odds. We visited the magic fields of Japan and Britannia. We saw how Rome has risen, fell, and got resurrected again. We saw how Napoleon picked up the momentum in a radically changing world, and how he both succeeded and failed. Having gone back to ancient times again, we saw the madness of the Gallic War unfold. We also saw the tyranny of Dionysios I. Back in the Middle Ages again, we saw how originally unplayable Norway conquered the entire map of the Teutonic Campaign despite the fact that they can't recruit military units. Ultimately ending up in present day, reminiscating about humanity and the future, I can only say one thing: I has been one hell of a crazy roadtrip - so far.'
Thank you all for having been there with me.
