    Default Questions before I download

Hi, I've been looking at your mod for some time now, and I must say, it looks to be one of those wonderful tidbits of the gaming realm that I cannot really afford to miss. However, I have been playing RTRPE for some time now, and it is one of those mods that I cannot simply part with. I believe that the next version of RTRPE, which should be released shortly, will allow users to utilize the modswitch function. With that in mind, I have decided to come here on a quest for information of sorts...

Simply put, does FATW support modswitch?

I also have a second question, regarding another mod which is similar to FATW. LOTRTW seems to be, to the unknowing observer such as myself, identical to FATW. What is the difference between these two mods? Both look great in my opinion. And naturally, I would hope that both mods support modswitch. But if that cannot be, then I want to have some information before I choose

Yes, both the Corsair Invasion and the soon-to-be-released Forth Eorlingas work from within their own modfolder.

As FE is soon to be out, you may wish to wait as it encompasses all that is in CI anyway.

There are 3 active Middle-earth mods, two of them are Lord-of-the-Rings based and the 3rd is based on the Fourth Age after the destruction of the Ring...

"Middle-Earth: Total War" is set during the War of the Ring and draws its inspiration mainly from the books. It is the oldest of the 3 mods. It is aiming to be released in BI as a modfolder. Its campaign covers the whole of the west of Middle-earth and includes all the familiar factions or alliances. It is currently in closed beta form.

"Lord of the Rings - Total War" is also set during the War of the Ring but draws almost entirely upon the movies. It aims to be released as an Alexander: Total War mod. This mod will likely appeal to those who want to relive the movies and its creator, Wlesmana, is doing some brilliant work in this regard. It is currently in closed beta form.

"Fourth Age: Total War" is set in the Fourth Age, during the dominion of men when Elves, Orcs, Hobbits and Dwarves are diminishing. It is strictly based upon the books and known lore. It contains many layers of details such as entirely new Middle-earth ancillaries and traits, new building features, etc. Its map took many months of research to get right and covers, in the Forth Eorlingas release, that part of western Middle-earth inhabited by the Dunlendings, Easterlings, Haradrim, Rohirrim and Gondor (approx half or more of that covered by ME:TW): 5 factions are available. FA:TW aims to not only be highly accurate but well designed, stable and as bug-free as possible. Corsair Invasion has been released and the even-more-stable Forth Eorlingas will be released in about 1 week.

In about one week? That is great news, especially if it were possible to release it before or on Febuary 4th. I´m ver much looking forward to it.
