    Default help request - Stratmapmodel for characters

    As you may notice, we´ve got mostly vanilla characters on our stratmap walking around.
    jurcek1987 thankfully has provided us with roman Generals, Captains and Diplomats in the new build, but there are many characters left untouched.

    We basicly have the units provide in the factional rosters and there are battlemodels for many factions to which could act as the source for the stratmapmodels for Generals, Factionleader + heir, Captains and Diplomats.
    So anybody feel free to help us in this matter. we would gladly fill the vanilla gaps with TGC own stiled characters.

    Do not hold your breath but I will add it to the tutorials I am looking at. Hopefully you will get qualified assistance long before then

    it´s basicly every faction, besides the ERE.

    i will update this post and list them here:

    it´s quite easy - so far, only ERE recieved fitting stratmapmodels for Generals, Captains, King + Hier + Diplomat
    the rest is still not done

    This was the standard Islamic general.
    I tested in game with my standard mod setup (This way it was faster to test).(I also scaled my models down (scale 0.5 in descr_models_strat and scaled skeleton))
    It took me about 20 minutes.
    The tutorial of Callistonian works like a charm!!

    I started now using the models from \unit_models\Generals_and_Captains folder. (Even have less model variation which fastens selection process)

    those are all really looking great - much better than vanilla

    most factions have models for king+heirs too

    Nice first attempt. You need to find the way to put the banner in to the hand though. Practice some more. In few days i return (hopefully). I will make the characters textures on TGA format and their models for factions that already have Kings,Heirs, Gebnerals, Captains and Diplomats.
    Then i will upload them to make your work. Just wait a bit and practice.

    Slave/rebels will have grey textures. The Islamic roster will be a nice example.
    While they will use the same strat_map character models they will have diffeent colored textures:
    Black - Abbasids
    Red - Fatimids
    Green - Crete
    Light Brown or yellowTulunids
    Dark brown Achlabids
    Blue - Kalbids
    Grey - Rebels

    Thank you. Good observation, I will have a look how other mods dealt with this (maybe increase hand size ).
    Which textures are you updating? Do you have many new ones? I have finished now the first iteration of generals and captains for "all" factions (not shadow ones, only abbasids and chandax for islamic factions) do you want me to send the files (with descr_character and descr_model_strat) to you?

    The version that _tartaros_ has uploaded and you play has:
    King/Heir/General/Captain (diplomat is always a general with the sword in his belt and use the scroll instead so we will leave them last).
    East Frankia
    Croatia
    Magyars
    Pechenegs
    Lombards
    HRE
    Rus

    Romans do not have King and heir yet.
    The rest are place hiolder.
    I use the vanilla TGA texture size 521x512 (if I remember well) ussing as much parce as possible. I save teh TGA texture in 32bits/pixel and use sharpening many times . So make your experiments and i will prepair the models/textures for you to transforme them and let _tartaros_ code them .
    This is because Rebels use south _european culture and i want to use some "neutral" models for factions like Lombards to fit as rebels as well.
    EDIT" Ask Jurcek for advices ..
