Question about the alliance between carthage and rome

Could someone remind me what the stipulations are? I remember from the first one I'm not allowed to invade the sicilian independent provinces as rome. Does this stipulation ever expire or anything?

Anything else special about this that I should know?

That's pretty much it. Don't conquer Messena and the script won't trigger war

It doesn't expire, and Carthage can invade it in your place which will also trigger the war. But once either of you have conquered the province you can just sign peace and the script won't start anew. I'm not sure what would happen if it goes rebel again, though.

I didn't realize carthage annexing it would start war though, funny because they've been rebuffed a few times.
