Mod leader of the SSHIP: traits, ancillaries, scripts, buildings, geography, economy.

If you want to play a historical mod in the medieval setting the best are:
Stainless Steel Historical Improvement Project and Broken Crescent.
Recently, Tsardoms and TGC look also very good. Read my opinions on the other mods here.
    ..............................................................................................................................................................................
Reviews of the mods (all made in 2018): SSHIP, Wrath of the Norsemen, Broken Crescent.
Follow home rules for playing a game without exploiting the M2TW engine deficiencies.
Hints for Medieval 2 moders: forts, merchants, AT-NGB bug, trade fleets.
Thrones of Britannia: review, opinion on the battles, ideas for modding. Shieldwall is promising!
Dominant strategy in Rome2, Attila, ToB and Troy: “Sniping groups of armies”. Still there, alas!

Not really a battle, but a duel from less known German series Maximilian & Marie de Bourgogne. Just finished it like a week ago. At least it doesn't have proud lesbian amazon warrior women in

I loved this scene even tho the story itself is somewhat unhistorical ( the battle of agincourt was real but the story didnt quite happen like here, this is an adaptation of shakespeare iirc). Anyway , i loved the knight formations and the idea of Henry fighting on the field with his men.

Also respect for the guy who took a horse charge to the face , playing medieval 2 ,i feel his pain .

However from a historical standpoint , the guy wearing the sallet helmet without a bevor to cover his neck was literally YOLO , one slash and he was done for. The other guy was better armoured even tho people say his helmet ( that bucket hounskull) was already old for the time period , but some say in West Europe they still used it .

One templar fights against few saracens:

From the movie "Arn:The Knight Templar", I think the best movie ever made about the crusades, templars etc. Based on the book.

The best depiction of medieval warfare to date. Nothing comes close. Not Kingdom of Heaven, not Braveheart, not the even the supposedly accurate "Knight of Hope"

My favourite, because the whole movies is still colourful while still looks realistic.

Not a Medieval scene yet in my opinion it's the best demonstration of a classical Arabian cavalry offensive which were renowned since 600AD during their fights with the Sassanids and Romans.

I present to you T.E Lawrence's offensive into the Aqaba port along with his Arabian Cavalry.

I've watched recently the movie "The Last Duel" and I've got two conclusions that may be useful for our mod:
    - the guys were in their 50ties and yet they fought as youngsters. This means we may have the trait "Beyond Battle" firing later?
    - we may have a third level of the building Tourney - with those brick/stone walls?

I also read recently about silver shields unit used by the Alexander of Macedon. Here I found one of the articles:

    https://www.warhistoryonline.com/anc...ields.html/amp

It’s says they were in their 60ies when fighting very important battles and being an elite infantry unit. I think that in war experience was as much important as physical strength, so many times older but experienced troops were still useful on the battlefield…
