Thread: Tsardoms Total War - Campaign Feedback, Bugs and Reports

Default Re: Tsardoms Total War - Campaign Feedback, Bugs and Reports

Hello, I just ran a Milan campaign and blitzed the Papal States after they declared war on my and took all of their regions. The Papal Elections event fired and proceeds to crash the game after the cardinals vote. I noticed this happened to some other people in the thread but I don't see anything further on it, so I am posting this to ask what must can done to prevent the crash if anybody knows. I shall include the relevant portion of my game log below, thanks.

On the subject of Papal states or specifically Roma in particular, do you think it possible to have Castel Sant'Angelo as a separate fortress?
When I sent an army into Roma, as Firenze I role played it as an anti Papal invasion. Punitive, in reality the nobility would of holed up in the castelle.
I realise probably cannot get Tiber bridge etc

A quick update, giving them a settlement resolves the crash, though having to actually give them a settlement, even if it was just a castle, smarts.

I bet it does but are they vassals? That at least is realistic

Not sure is this has been fixed in 1.5, but in 1.4 there was a problem with the battle map for Messina - the city is under water, the sieging army spawns on top of each other on a little island and the entire garrison dies the moment the battle starts, giving an auto win to the sieger.

Hi guys, i'm playing as Austria and i wanted to ask a general problem i had in regard of my generals / family members loyalty, almost everyone starts getting ambitious / ribelle trait and i don't know how to manage it ? Can someone help me ?

And in regard of my Austria Campaign i'm having problems of my family members not having kids, i'm in turn 30 and my heir got married pretty early in the game and no children/ male children had been born so i predict that the Habsburg line will be extinct in 100+ turns, this difficulty in having children is something by design or is my game bugged, cause it happened the same thing in my Milan, Byzantine and Bavarian Campaign.

It's a trait system we got from bellum crucis. It will be removed in the next version as its bugged/unbalanced.

The problem with generals not having children could be related to the factions having too many generals. basically, there is a limit of generals per faction which is linked to your settlement number. If you have too many generals the game will stop giving you adoptions and children. We also have the issue that generals live too long, so your older generals live unto their 80s which means no new children. So you probably need to disband non family member generals and or conquer more settlements. We will change the max life of generals in the next build to bring it to 60s so that generals will die off quicker.

@2shy. The wall issue has been fixed and will be in the next version.

@kavhan. thanks for the notice. will look into it.

As a rule of thumb, don't accept adoptions and man of the hour because those characters will then be added to the main family tree whilst also increasing your overall character count which, like Wallachian said, is related to the number of regions you have. If you stop getting adoption proposals and your male members only produce daughters, it means you have too many named characters. So you either get rid of some unwanted ones (generals count as well) or conquer more regions.

Is it normal that after conquering a settlement almost all destroyable buildings are destroyed or is it a bug? For example, I play as Hospitalers and have Corinth. Florentine army spawns and takes it from me. Port, castle chapel (we have the same religion) and market are destroyed. Faction authority "building" too, but this I understand. Barracks are left, which is confusing.

Hi, I dont know if you received my previous post since I cannot see it on the thread, still, my issue is the following, i also exposed it in detail on moddb. I am currently using 1.5 latest updated version and I am experiencing an end trun crash in 1356 with every single faction. I tried everything including reinstallment and verification of files but it doesn't work apparently. Hope this log may help you.

first off, wanted to say i'm thoroughly enjoying playing 1.5, imo you guys are really putting together the gold standard of medieval era mods. i'm 252 turns into an ottoman campaign with almost no ctds (maybe 2 or 3, always on campaign map, building cards go wonky then crash, but it's very rare and not game-breaking). i have 3 quick questions though, and i apologize if these have been addressed elsewhere but i searched and couldn't find it:

    1) after turn 1 i can no longer train princesses out of bursa. i tested the beginning of an austria campaign as well and, whether i do or don't train a princess on turn 1, i can not train princesses in wien after turn 1. like the princess icon disappears from the recruitment screen and from the building description of the imperial palace. in my long ottoman campaign i also almost never really get ''bride presented'' messages for unmarried family members (many old bachelors in my family tree) but i get tons of adoption requests. i deny them to keep my osmanoglu house intact, so i have maybe 15 fam members for 98 regions but had to negotiate marriage alliances with croatia to get my faction leader and heir married/to have children. i didn't know if these things were intentional or not?

    2) in the EDB the replenish rate for janissary arquebusiers in regions w/hidden resource turkish is 0.55 for city barracks tier 4, i think it's meant to be 0.055 like the other janissaries at that tier, especially since it's 0.067 at tier 5 and i assume the replenish rate should be higher not lower at the top tier barracks

    3) is there any track listing for the music? loving the main menu music and was hoping to be able to listen to it even when not in-game

Hmm the log doesn't say anything. can you give more info please, like which faction's turn and type toggle_fow and see what's going on.

The princess not being recruitable is an error in the code and will be fixed in the next version. But there have been no changes to the marriage/families mechanics, those things are hardcoded and sometimes the game behaves erratically. The recruitable princesses would only partially help you, they can be married to all family members but not to leaders and heirs. Marrying them to foreign princesses, like you did, is sometimes the only solution I'm afraid. Several factions get famous historical leaders as spawned characters which are added in the main family tree and coded to become heirs at the next opportunity. Ottomans get Bayezid (spawns in 1374) and Mehmet II (1446)

Those recruitment pools are probably typos.

I found 2/3 menu songs on youtube.

The goverment buildings are supposed to be destroyed but that's it. Were those settlements sacked when conquered? Some buildings get destroyed in those instances, that's standard in M2

Default Re: Tsardoms Total War - Campaign Feedback, Bugs and Reports

I have been playing a hotseat campaign (writing a story) so naturally I have seen several factions to 1445.

    Serbia, Albania and Rhomania.
The campaign has been awesome so far, I have not had a crash since 1340 ish. (I posted about it but seems I gotta ctd somehow???)

Battles are great, majority of battles are against Ottomans or Hungarians and AI thankfully has a nice varied army.
I do notice that the AI Ottomans in particular do not seem to like besieging cities/castles, but fine with Psfs.
Probably historically speaking not enough sieges as field battles are rare. But I know that suits most. But the AI rarely sallies out.
From the "story" point of view I'm a touch disappointed as the majority of the main important families are all but gone.

In Albania the faction leader is a Kastriot, but he hasn't any children and the last.

Serbia AI insists on putting nobody's as heir... So last dynasty isn't in power.

Palaiologoi are in situation similar to Albania, the vasileos is Phangros the Saint? Last Palaiologoi he's 70 with no children.

Tarnovgrad is only Bulgarian city but Ottomans refuse to besiege it, despite several decades of war.

PS Does hotseat prevent some of script working? If so, is there a way to overule this. Thank you

    Edit: 11 July.
The inability of the AI Ottomans in particular to besiege cities was troubling.
So I gave control of AI to player ie me and AI gave control of another faction.

I built a number of Ottoman armies from the scraps the AI had and set about besiege the city. It's way past 1453.
(and in my scenario I want a fight back )
After several years I returned control to AI and went to see what was happening...
The AI Ottomans had removed the armies and left the family members wandering around without any forces. A deliberate policy. Every time!! if you give the AI family members or general an army it will split them up.
Any idea why? Never heard of this behaviour or not as bad before.
It's very quiet around here so I won't expect any answers soon

awesome, thank you for the feedback. one other quick question -- i've been playing as venice lately and cannot build the tier 1 colonial building (outpost) in settlements where, according to the edb, i think i should be able to. doesn't even show up in the building browser. i can upgrade the existing outpost buildings present at the start ie the one in candia, but if i destroy that one i can't rebuild it there either. i haven't played with genoa or ragusa yet, but based on the edb i can't see why those would be different.

i'm assuming i'm missing something/made a mistake somewhere, but if not, is this a known issue to get fixed in a later update? or alternatively, are these buildings intentionally limited to your starting colonies since their bonuses are quite powerful?

Actually they should be buildable in overseas coastal regions. In addition to improving population order, they also give a substantial income bonus. They were added to encourage building an overseas empire when playing those factions. Otherwise those colonies were usually more trouble than they're worth due to large corruption and the expenses needed for their defense. The trade bonuses were worthless because they are too far from your core regions to allow sea trade between.

The EDB error has been rectified, thanks for letting me know

yeah, looking at the edb and descr_regions i was confused why they weren't buildable in my coastal greek settlements. what is the edb error exactly? i'd like to manually fix it now instead of waiting for the next update, but looking at the text i can't for the life of me figure out what the error is. looks good to me, but i must be overlooking something. it's fine if it's not savegame compatible, i'm just curious what edit(s) to make
