Can anyone tell me when they are likely to appear (date) in LTC 2.1?

I think it's between 1170 - 1200. It's not the same date every time, it's random but between those years.
Oh...and good luck with the Mongols. I've heard they got good horse archers

To be precise you will get the warning message about the Mongols between 1188 and 1264. The invasion will happen 4-10 years after you get the message.

The Timurids invasion warning will happen between 1328 and 1424.

The mongols have just arrived in my spain game (1190's). Im actually very interested to see how well the computer factions stand up to them on VH/VH LTC powered AI!.

Will the mongols actually make a dent in the east factions power at all? Anyone else got any stories of the mongols getting bashed by ai factions with the excellent LTC adjustments?

In my english campaign H VH at year 1240, I sent three armies out to invade the mogol lands in russia. They really didnt give any sort of fight. They attacked me once and I defeated them, other than that I just take over their cities.
