Default Reconstruction of the hydraulics of the water mills in Barbegal, France

A scientific reconstruction, how the hydraulics of the water mills in Barbegal, France in the second century AD worked:

    https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-74900-5

I found this article quite interesting, because of the elbow-shaped gutters, and because the scientists found saw marks on the timber of the kinked inlet, which probably came from a with water power operating machine saw.

It would be one of the earliest ones.

I saw what was left of them myself 3 or 4 years ago. You have really nice reconstructions in the museum of Arles etc. but the place itself is not really made for tourists. The images in Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbegal_aqueduct_and_mills
show a time when the vegetation was somewhat less intensive. When i was there movement and sight was really limited through the intensive vegetation in combination of the hill.
