Thread: Is it possible to add skills in startpos.esf?

    Default Is it possible to add skills in startpos.esf?

    See thread title. I only seem to be able to duplicate skills in PFM rather than add a new one. This means that I can't find a way to add a skill where there is none, such as in startpos.esf. I want some characters to spawn with particular skills, but I can't find out how to do that. I also want to do something similar with armor and weapon upgrades.

    Just use Assembly Kit (don't forget to install unofficial patch: here). In Assembly Kit you can give ancillaries and traits for starting characters. To give traits for characters who will spawn in campaign time, you have to create script (export_triggers.lua). To give upgraded armor and weapons for units probably also you have to create script, but I don't know what script.

    I already know about traits and ancillaries. I'm specifically asking about skills, the ones you pick when leveling up. I know I can add skill points, but I have yet to find a way to assign those points at game start.

    Are you telling me there is no way to add nodes to CHARACTER_SKILLS_BLOCK in a way that I can easily edit in PFM?

    No, just I don't how to do it via PFM (because edit startpos via PFM isn't comfortable, so I do it if I need quickly check something, and only small things), so I suggest you another way to try do it
