[Artifex] webba84 (Patron: Flinn)
Did anyone call me back?
my bit
Dear fellow citizens and artifexes, here we are again
Today I'm pleased to introduce you to webba84 , actual mod leader of the renown Fourth Age: Total War mod.
If you, like me, are familiar with that mod, you know that it took almost 10 years for it to be released (as a Director of the Eagle Standard I published an interview to MasterOfNone over the release of FA:TW on January 2016, you can find it here (interview is by DarkStorm). However, since shortly after the release, so more than 4 years ago, webba took over the leadership of that mod and kept working on it, expanding and improving it and releasing various new versions.
We all know how complex is to make an overhaul mod, the more when it comes to Middle Earth settings, since there's plenty of lore masters out there and the quality of the content has to be stellar, nothing less. Honestly a work like this is pretty much worth an Opifex, but as I always say, I like to go by steps, so ..
Not much to add on my side, I'll leave you to webba's words
his bit
Hello all,
My name on the forums here and most other places online is Webba84, and I am very honoured to be considered for Artifex on TWC. I will keep it brief and focused on the work.
I have enjoyed TWC and all the wonderful content and information regarding TW games here for almost as long as the site has been around, though I did lose my original account a long time ago. I have loved the TW games from the very beginning, though RTW and M2 are my era, and I’ve been an active fan of many mods for both games, and am still playing them these days, as time allows.
I especially always liked Fourth Age Total War, their unique approach to modding RTW and to Middle-earth, and their design ethos. When it became evident after many years of waiting that the third version of FATW would likely remain unreleased if no 3d modeller could be found I decided that in the absence of anyone more qualified I would try and offer my services.
That was mid 2014, and the main task required was to complete all the elven units needed for the mod by the end of the year, which was successfully achieved. There is not a full preview of those online, but you can see a good sample here, where they are being used in our latest project.

In addition to the elven units I also worked on many other bits and pieces for the mod - strat map models, Elven, Dwarven, and Dunedain settlements, and any other models or textures that needed finishing or touching up.
Aradan and MasterOfNone retired from modding at the beginning of 2016 with the release of the final version of the mod, and left it to myself and CountMRVHS to continue if we wished. In the following couple of years, we worked together to release four patches for the Dominion of Men, a brief summary of which can be viewed as follows. Unless otherwise credited, the 3d work for units and settlements is my own.

Following that we have begun working on a new project of CountMRVHS’s design, set in the middle period of the Third Age of Middle-earth, using FATW as a base. Progress on this mod can be followed on the link below. The unit designs are my work, while Count is responsible for the descriptions.

And that is about it, really. As modders go I am neither especially skilled or prolific, nor do I enjoy spending a lot of time with groups of other people (online or in any other setting). But I honor my commitments, get the work done, and try to be polite, patient, and helpful in all my interactions.
I appreciate your consideration.
I particularly like his honesty about his general attitude, that shows the texture of the man, if you get what I mean.

above quote is from 2016, a sort of written testament that MoN left behind to testify the quality of the work done by webba before he actually left the mod in his hands.
