Thread: Campaign Map Performance

    Default Campaign Map Performance

    Hello!

First of all thanks for your mod, I liked that you introduced the loyalty mechanics that were missing from other invasio barbarorum mods.

But I got to an issue with the campaign map performance. Is it normal to get 30 fps or less when moving the camera around in the campaign map? Is there a workaround to increase performance? It is not a problem with my computer as I run newer games smoothly.

I see battles too laggy with less than 30 fps at times!

Look up the d3d8.dll fix for running Rome Total War on Win 10 with improved performance, I think that might be your problem.

Maybe disabling the water effects, trade ships or new vegetation?

Vanilla runs ok even without the d3d8.dll fix, but the dll fix still helps and it really helps a lot in the case of large mods like IB.

I think this is just the nature of the modding. Not developed by a big studio, so optimization suffers. (usually, but not always*)

Try the d3d8.dll fix Drtad mentioned, sometimes it works.

There are also quite a few mods which do not have giant/extra detailed maps, so you can play those instead. (having the same problem, despite trying the fixes and having a good-ish PC, this is what I ended up doing.)
