To the extent BLM is a direct continuation of anything to do with the movements that came to a head in the 60s, it’s the latest iteration of Marxist and black nationalist elements that considered MLK and those like him to be Uncle Toms.

King was a Christian Democratic Socialist and rejected communism and capitalism numerous times. In any case, the Uncle Tom label wasn’t theoretical:

I jumped the gun there. I am aware that MLK was not a communist in the way the Black Panthers and other similar groups were. I just don't think that a Marxist in our days would be right in calling him that, after all the man was killed for his convictions. Of course there are always those fringe Communist groups who would rather be isolated than work towards building any substantial dialogue with potential allies. I do, however, doubt your assertion that BLM, being such a wide decentralized movement can be claimed to be a continuation of Black Nationalist and Maoist/Communist currents within the civil rights movement. It is in fact because of the plurality of schools of though present within BLM that enoch is right in his assertion that it can be seen as a continuation of the original civil rights movement.

BLM is not a grassroots movement. It has tens of millions of dollars thrust upon it by international corporations* and powerful oligarchs and has been given the near unconditional support of the liberal press. Most of BLM's institutional patrons have no interest in civil rights or the civil rights movement (despite falsely claiming an association for the purposes of legitimacy and moral authority). They instead use the ~~organization~~ movement primarily (though not exclusively) as a tool to advance globalist objectives.

As I mentioned above, it is correct to say that BLM as a whole is a decentralized movement with no visible leadership or coherent philosophy. The organization I was referring to was the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation which took in over $90m in 2020 alone.

The allegations of ongoing "ethnic cleansing" to create a nation-state are dubious, particularly given that Israel offers Israeli Arab Muslims equal legal protections. Nevertheless, right or wrong, Palestinians should have the right to protest as they wish.

Settle down. I was responding to an article authored by Cheney which was published by the Washington Post. Her removal from leadership by the GOP is a separate issue.
