Thread: Question on Resources

    Default Question on Resources

I read in the FAQ for the war horse resource that it is rare and it can also be acquired through trade and occupation. Acquiring it through occupation is unclear to me. Is there a certain building that I can build that would allow me to have the warhorse resource with out trade? Also another question since its about war horses, Why doesn't Armenia have this resource. Historically it was famous for its Cavalry, and breading of horses.

I think it originally exists on 3 places: Gaul, Numidia and Parthia. Then with trade ( or with conquer ) you can produce it with either minor or major horse buildings.

Armenian warhorses were smaller but other horses but more nimble.

Resources are not fully based on regions and are resticted to far away places so that you don't end up with them in just few turns due to how trade connections work. For example Thessaly also does not get horse resoruce despite having better horses than Armienia had. I do plan to add Armenian horses as special ones for Armenian cavalry tho, similar like it works for Thessalian and Nissean horses.

In case of above, by occupation means by conquering city that has it.

    excited Armenian cavalry noises

Is that purely a stats thing or does it include visual changes for the horses?

Sadly no visual changes since you cant edit mount sizes, hence all horses and elephants are of the same size, which is especially bad for elephants as it was always noted how important that size difference was.
