So I recently started messing around with the Battle Editor again after a while. I wanted to make a specific historical battle, as precise as possible. However, the editor is terrible to work with. It crashes constantly, it is extremely slow, its buggy and very badly optimized. So after 10 or so attempts at making a map I gave up. This is not worth the headache.

I'm here asking if there is any alternative to the battle map editor for Historical Maps. Anything will do. Can I use ms3d models to shape the terrain by importing those as "props", like the Lake_A\B\C already do? Will it crash the game?
Or how about maps of the terrain reliefs, in black and white, just like with Napoleon TW. Can that be done in some way?
I feel like ANY alternative could be better than the battle editor, that tool is utterly broken and not fun to use.
