    Dear Subforum,

    I've been tinkering with a mod that removes Dignitaries and Champions from the game. In Player hands, 90% of the time these units are just passive stat sticks, with Dignitaries buffing income/PO and Champions building army XP. Removing them from the game cleans up AI Agent spam, speeds up turn times, and is one less chore for the player is keep track of.

    I want to keep Spies because, with DEI's changes, they are fun and have more active and diverse roles.

    Here's the problem: While I was able to remove agents from the player through the fame tables, for some reason the AI was still able to field many agents. I think they do not adhere to it, and their agent count may be hardcoded.

    Could someone suggest a solution, so that the AI and player cannot levy Dignitaries and Champions, and only a limited number of Spies?

    Weird that fame_tables doesn't work, it should, maybe you put the entries in the wrong section? campaign must be main_rome for GC

    I can make a script that checks every turn if there are agents (any kind and keep spies) anywhere from any faction and kill them automatically
    won't lag, a couple of secs at max

    Otherwise try by applying (in the difficulty tabs) this effect "3c_tech_agent_cap_mod" and put it inside some "campaign_difficulty_handicap_effects_tables" table, both for AI and player
    put something like -100 as a value and you'll be sure about removing their recruitment
    won't erase existing ones though, you can do that via startpos editing or scripts (killing script) only

    Hah, funny coincidence between our posts! What I did in my submod to remove Champions was to simply stop them from being unlocked from the technology that normally grants them.

    Go into *technology_effects_junction* and remove entries with *rom_building_champion_availibility*, like so:

    you use them as mods, like dei or anything else

    better way to use mods is to use mitch's manager which will force steam to maintain checks and order

    Hmm... it's that is suppose to look ? I cannot recruit any more dignitaries, besides this one which I had on start.
