    Default Danger (flash fiction)

Nothing too serious, just a flash piece:

A man looks outside and thinks: “This street is dirty, and how repulsive are the expressions of the passers-by. No sense of unity in their crooked movements and sideways furtive stares; they might as well have been crude antagonism personified”. To such a man normalcy is already unbearable and so he does not sense that things can get worse. And if, in a flash, the furtive stare would change to raised hand, and the street’s corruption would acquire a crimson tint, it’s a superfluous danger, like a shark approaching one about to drown.

That's an interesting thought, that someone is repelled by normalcy and yet is unaware that things can get worse!

Very intriguing. I sense isolation and apathy in the man. And simultaniously a sense of danger. A thoughtful piece.

    Default The Immortal Evil

I may have posted an older version of this, in the past... Reworked it a bit anyway.

    The Immortal Evil

I read that the central head of the Lernaea Hydra was immortal, and unlike the rest couldn’t be annihilated by Herakles who instead kept it subjugated under a large rock. I don’t doubt that Herakles would have chosen a very heavy rock, one which couldn't be moved by just anybody; and discovering the buried head of the monster by chance would have been virtually impossible. Yet now, countless aeons later, with most people having not heard of what happened back then, is it that unlikely modern means for moving weights already equal in strength the demigod and can provide any mortal with the ability to lift even what was once an immovable rock? If so, it is just a matter of time, and inevitable, for the immortal evil to be free again.

As usual, you can listen to an appropriately Greek accented narration of it, at https://youtu.be/nrAmDl0hC9E

That's a great title and a neatly done story idea!

(Are you planning to continue The Immortal Evil, or is this flash fiction? If it's flash fiction, I'll move this to your flash fiction thread.)
