    Default Creature Crash Fix for TATW 3.2 [Ents, Spiders and Wolves]


    DOWNLOAD

    Install by extracting to your 'Medieval II Total War/mods/third_age_3' folder

    Fix is for TATW 3.2 only, it's not compatible with submods.

    This fix would not have been possible without the work and assistance from Jojo00182 and the rest of the Call of Warhammer: Beginning of the end of times team.

    Content:
    - Ents, Spiders and Wolves no longer cause crashes during battles
    - Sauron and Balrog no longer cause crashes during battles (not fully tested)
    - Replaced Ents' shoving attack with ground slam attack
    - Ents can attack and kill Mumakils
    - Spiders and Wolves can attack and kill ents
    - Wolf unit by briarius has been added to the Orcs of the Misty Mountains in custom battles
    - Spider variant added to the Orcs of the Misty Mountains in custom battles
    - Spider variant added to the Orcs of Gundabad in custom battles

    Credits:
    - King Kong for TATW units and animations
    - Briarius for Wolf unit and animations
    - Alreadyded for Spider units and animations
    - Louis Lux for Spider textures, 2D art and fixes
    - Jojo00182 for fixed skeletons
    - Araval for Wolf unit card

    Thanks to youneuoy for bringing renewed attention to this issue and making a fix using his M2TW engine overhaul project.

    Tested the fix just now in my Third Age + MOS 1.7 Lothlorian Campaign and the Wolves don't crash during battle. Great Work!!

    I'm quite glad to hear that. But a warning to everyone reading this, the file you can download here is for TATW only, as it says in the First Post. For MOS it needs the specific MOS fix, which I released as a test version earlier today in the MOS thread HERE.

    Beware though, the MOS_Creatures_Fix is almost certainly not save game compatible.

    Hello I haven't played TATW for a while (like 3 years actually ) and installed it few hours ago. Im now thinking about installing some bugfixes and stuff to make the game playable so i have a few questions for you. Can i download this bugfix and this one (the one linked by Gigantus below the installation guide) https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...eam-compatible simultaneously? Or these two collide with each other? What are the best bugfixes i should install to make TATW actually playable? Any other tips for freshman? hahaha Thanks in advance guys

    Install the fixes Gigantus recommended and the Creature fix. They shouldn't be incompatible.

    They're compatible. Install the bugfixes first just to be safe.

    Is this hard to implement into 3.2 manually. Is it like adding another unit from one mod to another, or are there something I have to do in addition to this? I have problems with Spiders, Ents, Sauron and the Balrog. I can make it work (kind of) when my graphic settings are on lowest. I am working on my own sub mod so this will interfere with it.

    Are you changing any animations at all? You can just copy the data/animations folder from the fix and paste into your mod data folder, it won't interfere with your mod. Balrog can still cause crashes once in a while.

    Thank you. I worked just fine. What I meant was if there had been made some changes in export_descr_units under soldier and mount. It was the same old.
