    Default Deus lo Vult 1.9 Bug Reporting and Fix-it Status

    Please post your DLV1.9 bugs on this thread. I'll also put my work list here for your sport and edification.

    1. Rebel factions should not get Heraldic Ranks (status: fixed - verified)
    2. Generals should not get campaign experience while at sea (status: fixed - verified)

    I found one most annoing bug -> there is no way to download this piece of art!! I love this mod, I play only this mod and I'll keep doing that till next TW game

    Oh thank you master I'm not worthy... Downloading now (35%) and for the first time I'm really happy that I got fired!! Just few minutes ago with BIG final payoff
    Now I have time (and don't worry I wont starve) to play this outstanding mod.

    Theres a problem with the siege ladders because at first all four ladders are used by a unit of men. Then not long after its initial use they start going up one ladder and the group of men surround a specific ladder and ignore the other three.

    I think the one siege ladder bug is still a standard MTW bug. Maybe Darth Vader can solve this problem in the future, or a patch

    Repman the ladder bug was absent in Deus_Vault 1.8! There was no ladder bug , men climbed ladders faster and stormed the walls faster. Are you sure you did not forget any files from 1.8

    The one ladder seige bug is from Vanilla. Modders such as Darth are working on it

    Hi,

    is there something wrong with loyalty? My Heir, the Kings brother and an adobted family member all have "You are NOT my King" and "Disobeyes his Liege" traits, that can't be right, or what?

    Edit: My latest adobted family member has just become disloyal. He had 6 in loyalty, I gave him the Privy Seal - then he had even higher loyalty, next turn he "Disobeyes his Liege"

    Edit 2: Now 4 of my family members/generals are totally disloyal and can't move.

    One way a mass betrayal can be triggered is by running a budget deficit for several turns. Apparently the nobles are all fiscal hawks and get crabby when the king is spending beyond his means. I've had what you describe above happen to me when I was aggressively sieging away without regard to balancing the budget. Needless to say, I've had to mend my ways...
    That may have not been your circumstances, but if your king has the trait "Offends the Nobility" (or something near that...I always hate quoting from memory)...you can get the results you just described.

    The AI still sucks even on VH/VH. I played spain for about 100 turns when a crusade was called against jerusalem owned by Turkey. With one full stack I traveled across the desert taking cities and forts along the way. I got to Egypt and captured and sacked three of their cities. Next I went through Turkey like a knife through butter. I capture and sacked six of their forts and cities and I still have half my army left rampaging through their country. The AI doesn't protect their cities very well at all. My army should have been stopped and destroyed after taking nomore than two or three cities at most. I feel like I am playing a 3 year old kid.

    so you build up your faction during 50 years and then start the crusade:
    so money was no problem for you even with the field cost script ?
    - the AI cities have been empty ?
    - no full AI stacks around ?
    - the AI troops of poor quality ?
    - the AI behaving stupid on the battlefield ?

    Ah! I was indeed losing money I was fighting France and taking Ireland at the same time. Interesting, about losing money and pissing of nobles. So this time you actually have to collect money, prepare, before you go to war. Nice.

    I'm better start a new campaign.

    I am currently playing DLV 1.9 with the byzantines. While I am under huge pressure by Venice (I have been fighting for the Balkans with them for about 40 turns now and each of us lost about 10 armies or so, without taking even a single town) the conquest in the east goes far too easy.

    I don't know about the garrisons, but the trouble with conquering the east too easily might be caused by too early crusades and conquest by the player. I think the weakness of the east has something to do with the fact that both islamic factions are on a way of expanding through vast territories right from the beginning. They are constantly advancing into rebel territory, taking provinces. Until that is done, their home provinces often remain empty. When the player strikes, they don't draw their armies back, and so the conquest of their core provinces is an easy one. Adding the additional trouble caused to them by the crusades, they cannot easily withstand conquest.

    Boy am I glad I'm not in charge of AI. Seriously, what we need is a garrison script to give those AI cities a little more backbone. That's definitely in for DLV2.0. Thank you for the feedback Badapple!

    Adam the VIth how is Darth's AI in comparison to UAI. I have not tied Darth's yet because it would require a restart and one of these day I will actually make it to atleast the Mongol Invasion

    So far, it is savy. I am HRE and the Venetians immediately jumped on Bologna when I sent most of its garrison to grab Florence (in every game I have played, no matter what mod, they always are the first to war). I lost both, but retook Bologna, then in a mass battle, utterly defeated the Venetians (it was actually a good fight until I threw all my cav into the breach, killed their general and they fled). Then, they offered me peace (my strength was at supreme, theirs respectable, so it made sense) and almost to apologize, they gave me Zagreb.

    That's it so far, only to 1088 at this point. Sorry, I'm travelling this week, so play is 2nd string to work.

    Problem I have with the test is that we'd need to re-balance $$$ -- I have too much of it, but I'll gift it and use it to try and stay balanced so the AI will treat me as a peer and not as the bank!
