Can the current shaolin monks really fight?

What is the truth about the current shaolin monks? A person who says he studies wu-shu told me that the current shaolin monks are beasts of fighting and superior even to the world-class MMA/UFC fighters. And that the reason why they don't participate in MMA or UFC tournaments is because supposedly their religion or code of life forbids them. Or that they don't care about both money and fame.

That's because summoning a ghost army of your spirit ancestors to annihilate your opponents in the cage is frowned upon in western style sports competitions.

Ugh, this is why I can't watch western style fighting anymore. If there aren't ancestor ghosts in the ring I'm tuning away.

Yes they can really fight, they still continue the martial traditions. I would imagine not taking part in competitions has to do with their religious believes. They do make demonstrations tho, so you can see their skills.

You can go there too and become a monk and learn what they know, come back and tell us in a few years.

Or you can just look for some other guys who are interested in that, buy some shaolin clothes and voila, got yourself a private shaolin chapter:

Yea probably, but im pretty sure i also havent seen a white shaolin monk before. BTW Wu-Tang dont count, well maybe except RZA, but i wouldnt bet he can actually fight:

Some say they are the best for exhibitions, acrobacy stuff, etc but that they can't fight in MMA
