    i still get ctd with battle[i tried my best to set enemy casualties as 80% as possible]

    maybe this is cause i set unit detail to highest and AA on high?[i turned off aa and unit detail to high]

    should i set AA off and Unit detail to high and vegetation to medium?

    not really, but only generals with nightfighter traits can participate. you don´t get this massive battles, that get ctd when reloading into the campaignmap again. for example in this situation from above:

    figthing nightbattles, you can pick them off one by one. every of the 4 thsd unit stack can get massacre battle per battle + step by step. if only one general has the nightfighter ability, switch armies, if they get to depleted. this way i slowly grinded the horde into the ground. some citiysieges can also help to thin then out.

    i set AA of and use my nvidia AA outside the game
    grass on medium is more important (there´s more grass than trees)
    Unitdetails only come to play at close distance.

    but i really want a huge battles like this without any problem

    this is the one of the reason that i came back to RTW1. which RTW2 and Attlia and above are limit to 40 units xxxxxxx....


    so AA doesn't matter? and graphic settings too?


    is there other way to improve or fix campaign loading from huge battles?

    i don't get ctd when i quit the battle with small casualties in huge battles.[i tested it]

    anyway thanks.

    i will rely on night battles more.

    but please tell me if you have a more infomation or improvement on this matter

    yay


    i turned off AA.

    but can i increase unit detail and grass option to high/highest?

    it will be not effect on campaign loading when i setting others as highest?

    i have a quesiton.

    there will be less ctd and more compatible if i don't use steam version[rtw gold]?

    cause i see that Roma surrectum is not compatible with steam version.

    true, i can only run RSII without steam. all other rtw-mods only with steam...
    if it´s more stable depends on your settings (+2GB, no AA, no autosave, disable UAC).

    but i have a one more question.

    why should i turn off aa for RTW1?[why it cause ctd or something?]

    is there particular reason for that?[system limitation?]

    cause i want to use them..

    + it is fine to use AA with -ne[windowed mode]? hmmm..

    because vanilla rtw AA is way outdated and additional programs like the reshape tool provide much better and smoother graphics. both AA´s at the same cause trouble.

    Bug report!

    onager & heavy onager from reinforcement[both AI & player] can't enter the battlefield or very slow.

    this cause massive stutter or freezing+ctd in huge battle.

    i've been very enjoying Restitvtor Orbis with Non-steam RTW1.

    so far, no ctd after battle with maximum graphic settings


    i think Rome total war gold[steam version] cause many problems too.

    The Steam version has many problems, especially on modern PCs. FPS drop, poor performance, etc. Much more is worth if you play the non-Steam version, despite not having online battles, because the servers have been closed for years ...

    i sadly didn´t been able to run my disk version after the exe update years ago. only mod running this way is RSII / RSIII
    how did you manage to run rtw on disk version?

    palmyran scorpion cause weird bug in battle.[i can't see scorpions. instead soldiers were jumping ]

    Wow, in all my wargaming I have never seen that before. Looks like the scorpion crew have come ballistic. Can you give some some more background to this? looks like they are trapped in the corner of the battlefield.

    i attack the palmyran army in the north of palmyra and pursued them. and they have a scorpion crew in their army.
