Ships are moving too fast !!!

Just started a new IA campaign, I haven't play DEI since 1.2.5. Is it me or the ships are just way too fast, as if they have electric engines beneath the decks. I had to play with slow speed for the sea battles and even then they are still fast. Any idea?

Nope, they seem fine to me.

Some ship speeds were tweaked in the last update, but they are overall still much slower than vanilla. Acceleration has been buffed, but this is historical and makes ramming more effective, which was the main way naval combat was decided. The fastest types of ships are Trihemiolas, Tetreres/quadreremes, and triremes - they are optimized as (relatively) fast and maneuverable to flank the enemy battle line of large and medium ships. I'm working on a guide for naval tactics and tips which will hopefully help people make naval combat work for them. What sort of ships were you and the enemy fleet using?

For me the speed is perfectly balanced, before they were very slow and naval battles were not really enjoyed, many times I solved them automatically. Now I have made all of them and they seem perfect to me.
