Question about installation: Is it sufficient to have M2TW in C:\Steam rather than C:\Program Files\Steam?

According to the installation instructions:

2) Do NOT Install Medieval 2 Total War and the Kingdoms expansion in the standard library C:\Program Files\Steam...

My Steam folder already is not located in the default C:\Program Files\Steam. Instead, it is located in C:\Steam, all my Steam games are there (i.e no Program Files folder is involved). Is this sufficient, or do I still have to make the extra folder and move the game?

It also says that it is not recommended to have other mods installed. How strict is that requirement for EB2 to work?

It's okay to have it on C:Steam and you can use other mods without any problem as long as they are mod foldered.
