In the first round, many brave challengers entered the field with their sponsors and supporters in tow.
ELITEOFKINGWARMAN88 was one such stalwart, however he withdrew his forces from the field shortly after arrival, hoping that in so doing he would ensure a victory for the would-be Arch-lich.
Then into the fray strode a nobleman of ancient pedigree, none other than Gaius Baltar, founder of his own Curial House. Yet the local rabble of the Devia were an insular lot, and for all the earnestness of his proposals, Baltar did not have enough of an established presence in the realm to survive the clash.
ggggtotalwarrior, proud son of the Devia and a strong early contender for the throne, was a victim of great misfortune when his steed slipped on a banana peel at full gallop, grievously injuring his knee and ending his claim at a stroke.
Late-comer AqD was yet another casualty of the battle, given that by the time his herald had read out his desired title, most of the fighting had ended. AqD himself had also been so distracted by delicious curry that he had forgotten about the election anyway.

All had made gallant efforts worthy of respect, but there were only two candidates left standing.

Akar and Cookiegod, sole survivors of the first skirmish, now prepare for a final battle to the death. Who will emerge triumphant? You decide!

I voted for Arch-lich Akar, because despite his many failings and lack of moral character, he is far less likely to try and mercilessly eat me alive as a snack like the Cookiegod known as Cookiegod, who laughs at the trivial concerns of mere mortals and devours their children without compunction. Say what you want about Akar, he will at least be an incompetent aloof monarch instead of a proactively insane one who will crush and suffocate you beneath his girthy dough (i.e. as Cookiegod would do).

Sure feels good to be elevated to second-in-command already as the hand of the king. You guys better vote for Akar, because there's no way Cookiegod will do the same for me. In fact I'm probably already marked for death by siding so firmly on the side of Akar. I'll need to hire some security detail, some bodyguards and trained mercenaries to defend against any assaults by Cookiegod to wipe out Akar's inner circle of friends and confidants.
