The Curia is perfectly entitled to request an update of new badges, that's granted

In any case a vote of approval, if not a real competition, remains a must

So, back to the question I asked before.

Assuming that we do go ahead with a competition, when would be the best time for us to do so? Before Troy, after Troy, or at some other date?

I'd say, whenever we are ready. Have this proposal go to vote and get a "yes", then I'll start a submission thread in the Art Competitions forum; we can either go with a single or double turn.. I'm lingering towards a single turn this time, but actually having a double turn will probably stimulate more people to participate, which is good per sé IMO.. also, during the first turn people can actually give a general feedback/suggestions to the submitter to improve their designs before they actually make the full set of badges

Alright, I'll have this moved to vote. Thanks for your thoughts, Flinn.

If we're going to get things started before the game has an official release date I think we can probably afford to do a two round competition. I don't know how long the competitions usually last for (2 weeks, a month?) but I imagine we'll have more than enough time to run one or both of em.

I'd say that 1 month for the 1st submission is due, since it will give people time to notice the competition and possibly do minor modifications based on incoming suggestions, then we can have 2 weeks for the first round of vote, then 2 weeks more for the second submission (everything is already decided) and 2 weeks more for the final vote. Consider another 2 weeks of possible delays, things coming in weekend, etc. If we want to do the things properly, it will need 3 months.. going with one single turn will probably reduce the total time to 2 months.

2-3 months sounds about right to get everything done properly.

Should we take a first vote to figure out of a second vote is needed?

Love the idea! The artists did a great job with the 3K badges, but I just so miss antiquity being at the core of badges here. And it gives a great excuse for an artistic competition to be run, like was done for the 3K badges. I'm 100% in!

I wasn't active at the time we switched to the 3K badges, so I missed seeing all of the other sets that got made. Would you happen to have a link to where I could look at those sets? If the images aren't dead yet, that is .
