Default Trump slams Sessions: 'You had no courage & ruined many lives'

President Trump lashed out at former Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Twitter Saturday evening, accusing the GOP Alabama Senate candidate of 'ruining lives' when he decided to recuse himself from the Department of Justice's (DOJ) Russia probe.
The tweet from Trump slamming Sessions is the latest installment in a back-and-forth between the two over Memorial Day Weekend.
“Jeff, you had your chance & you blew it. Recused yourself ON DAY ONE (you never told me of a problem), and ran for the hills. You had no courage, & ruined many lives,” Trump shared, retweeting Sessions’s earlier rebuke.
“The dirty cops, & others, got caught by better & stronger people than you. Hopefully this slime will pay a big price. You should drop out of the race & pray that super liberal @DougJones, a weak & pathetic puppet for Crazy Nancy Pelosi & Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, gets beaten badly. He voted for impeachment based on “ZERO”. Disgraced Alabama. Coach @TTuberville will be a GREAT Senator!” Trump continued.
I wonder if any of his other appointments and staff are looking at his actions here and starting to question if Trump is really worth their loyalty?

So Trump thinks running a case you’re a witness to is totally fine.

As the Flynn case is proving there was an incredible amount of misbehavior occurring in the DOJ during Sessions' term as AG. It happened virtually right under his nose. So yeah, Trump has just cause to be PO'd.

Following procedure instead of being a sniveling yes man? Unthinkable for Trump.

We can go back and forth all day on Flynn. But there's no two ways about it. You can absolutely not run a case you're a witness to. And there's no way you can argue Sessions shouldn't have recused himself without having a questionable ethical position.

There was no ethical reason for Flynn to recuse himself. He failed to do his job and let the DOJ run wild. He recused himself because he feared the press. He should not have taken the job.

What story did you just read? This is about Sessions recusing himself. From a case he was a witness to. That Flynn was wrapped up in.

The irony of it all is that, and it amuses me that both you and Trump fail to grasp this, the DoJ is bigger than any one case. It's about the policy and steering guidance that the AG sets. Not a single case the AG recuses himself from.

Just how was Sessions a "witness"?

People with entitlement complexes tend to think if you don't get on your knees and worship them, then you need to punished and humiliated until you accept your role is to be their slave, and if you still refuse you must be destroyed. As things get even worse for Trump we're going to see more of this behavior, along with him just dropping pretense and saying how he really feels, which will only isolate him further. If he loses the election I fully expect him to turn against his supporters and blame them.

Meeting with the ambassador during this all means he has no involvement. Of course. Right.

You'll see the link to 28 CFR 45.2 in there. Psst. That's law by the way.

I think anybody who's department is supposed to be investigating something that they suspect might have their name mentioned is obliged to step aside.

Looking at this from the other side, investigation goes ahead, AG doesn't step aside, investigation names AG as witness, how could anybody trust their testamony?

That's literally how corruption works. Like literally. Actual literal. Sessions may get beaten up by the MAGA fanclub, but he will be able to walk into his next job knowing he does the right thing, no matter the cost.

The irony is, far from cowardis, doing the right thing in the Apprentice White House is actually intensely brave, and now we're seeing the evidence of that.

That's a sham and it's totally lame. That ambassador has met with many senators. There is not a single setting senator that hasn't met with foreign diplomats; and it's all recorded.

The DNC and the media made the charge and Sessions laid down for it. He should have resigned if he felt he couldn't do his job.

Except he could do his job. Again. You and Trump miss the forest for the trees. The AG is bigger than one case. The AG sets policy and guides the Department. Which Sessions did remarkably fine, though in fashions that I disagreed with most of the time. But don't mind that. Keep eating what Trump spoonfeeds you.

This is part of a more serious problem than any of Trump's uninformed medical ramblings and troll baiting. His regime goes after anyone who doesn't toe the party line as harshly as any US administration in living memory, this is at least as bad as Reagan's bloodletting and its been a rolling mess over four years, not just an initial "regime change" moment.

If only Trump had of had an AG like Eric Holder, Obama's AG.

Obama on the Fast and Furious scandal: "The executive branch had nothing to do with it. It was the Department of Justice."

Eric Holder, the AG under whose guidance the program was extended to selling weapons to illegal buyers: "I can't testify. I'm claiming executive privilege. We are part of the executive branch."

    News media: "No problemo."

Not quite sure how Holder should've recused himself from that one. Your analogy makes no sense.

    It wasn't an analogy.
