no raw chicken! although I heard pork or beef can actually be consumed raw here; still seems risky.
raw pork and beef are good. You wouldn't have chicken rare? I suppose I wouldn't either unless I trust the chef/location.

Blasphemy! They have the best "western food" (yōshoku), like sweet thick curry with meat sauce and fried pork with stuffed bacon and cheese 襤

    now I'm hungry again...
Agreed, they make French haute cuisine better than the French do and can do (some) Italian food as well as Italians. Also loads of other stuff from the West which is made to a higher standard here. Puts one to shame sometimes haha

They do?! My impression on real western food (not adapted food) in Japan was rather bad, but I only did it once since there were too many things to try.

    Curry recreated!

I remember when I worked at a restaurant that sold a lot of Ahi tuna and ugh the amount of people who would order it with "no pink" or "well done" would make me want to die. The look on the kitchen crew's faces whenever they had to destroy that beautiful tuna steak...

Admittedly they did create the abomination that is Naporitan. That aside, when you're talking of a Japanese chef who's been trained in Europe, they often reach the highest levels of quality. It's not for nothing that Tokyo has so many michelin stars and that most of the best French restaurants in Paris are run by Japanese.

That dish makes me very very sad.

Typical Southern USA nonsense. These are the same people ordering a well done NY Strip or Ribeye with A1 sauce and complaining it's "dry" or whatever. No amount of convincing will, well, convince these people to try something out of their comfort zone. It took me forever to get my Mom to get try a medium rare steak or burger since she had had a "bad experience" with one before. I really don't understand what is up with some people down here...

I recognize the type and we have plenty of those too.

A specific kind in the group are the people who are reluctant to go to a Chinese restaurant because "it always tastes the same". Then they describe some fast food like stuff such as deep-fried balls of something in sweet and sour sauce and the like. Yet when you drag them to a very good and authentic Chinese place with a great cook, they ignore all recommendations and try to find the dish most resembling what they have previously described Chinese food "always" tasting like. And lo and behold, again Chinese food tastes the same.

That is so different with you guys and us guys. Finns have a very clearly defined set of foods that can be considered breakfast. It is almost a taboo kind of thing. There are very different things among them and people have varying tastes, but I have never met a Finnish person who could have pasta for breakfast. I once met a guy who had jelly rolls (sweet stuff do not belong to the list of breakfast items) for breakfast but he was a total weirdo anyway.

Eurgh, yeah not much one can do about that eh. You can't even choose how your meat is cooked here. 'Chef knows best', and few seem to disagree...

Pasta with ketchup for breakfast? That's a little disgraceful.

I wish things would be done that way here sometimes.

Ahh yes, the people who just order Sweet and Sour chicken and eat it without the sauce.

It's not sausage but pork organs, and usually comes with a sunny side egg

We do too, but life is terribly boring so why not?

The first thing I learned is some kind of coffee cocktail served in Finnish breakfast... been trying to find the name since.

It's pork meat and called "Sisig". This is a famous partner of beer here in the Philippines.

Let's change topic to beer-pairing breakfast food for hot summer!

First is three kinds of baklava made in Turkey - took so long to find them!

Those are so good. But I cannot get over this cultural difference in what may constitute breakfast food
