About frogs: I've had many times, last time was like 5 or 6 months ago. In the past they were considered a delicacy, my grandfather used to catch them on the moats and canals from the fields (together with freshwater crabs and shrimps); at periods those were a fundamental part of their diet. Yes they taste much like chicken, even though the meat is more slimy if not properly cooked (and that's what drives most of people away from it, rather than because of it being frog). It's a nice thing to have, every once in a while.
About insects: I did eat Tarantula and few others when I visited my now deceased uncle who was a Missionary in Amazonia... well not really my dish, I did have to do a big effort to taste them, taste wise they all felt like smoke (because they were cooked on fire ofc), texture wise they didn't really get on me. I'm sure I could eat them anyways, if the alternative is starving.

I had a very typical Finnish dish for lunch today. Fried Baltic herring ("herring steak" as we call it) with mashed potatoes. The sauce is a specific kind of sour cream for which there is no English name.
Is dill in the sauce?

You got it, Morty! It has typically dill both in the sauce and in between the two fillets that are fried. Dill is a central flavor in the dish.
Here is an English-language recipe:

I guess a kind of Dill sauce then, which is also popular especially in North Germany.
The german is nearly the same.
