Since me and AqD live in the same city and love to yap about food, we decided to have dinner together IRL. This somewhat classy Korean place called Old Boy in downtown Helsinki was our choice.



We had a shared meal of crab in ginger, mint, and chili; grilled leek with tiny anchovies and butter; potatoes in chili paste with pickled shiitake mushrooms, squid and cherry tomatoes in sweet gochujang sauce, grilled chicken in citrus sauce, and a desert of some weird, green rumex icecream with buttermilk creme, cane sugar crumble, and fresh strawberries. And of course kimchi and rice, Korean Cass brand beer, and soju (a Korean liquor).

Everything was nicely prepared, service was just impeccable (way better than what I am used to here), and we had some great discussions and plenty of laughs. A great Thursday evening.

It's not sausage but pork organs, and usually comes with a sunny side egg

My fav is the sizzling sisig with sunny side egg still cooking on top...It's so delicious but so bad for the heart :-<

That would be an ideal meal for me. Did you season the broccoli with butter and black pepper? I never done at, as simple and good as it sounds.

Really good looking stuff, and interesting to see. To me quite exotic and definetely not something I would ever see at the market here.

EDIT: whatever crablike creature those tails to the bottom right came from must be huge.

I salt and pepper the broccoli and then stick a big ol piece of butter on top and wrap it in aluminium foil and throw it on the grill.
