Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach I think.
Gustav Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach I think.
Korrekt. Heavy G obviously referring to Schwerer Gustav, the thick chick being Dicke Bertha (nicknamed after his wife), the better name being "Krupp", which, even though not nobility, had that much prestige both the Kaiser and the Führer passed specific laws only for that family; and obviously the lets do it again referring to ww2 after ww1.

Almost forgot.
Okay...
Stranger, go and tell my son
that I lie here, true to oath I sworn
Now his is the crown of that strange land
thrust upon me by my wife's hand
On the world's stage I did my duty well
but my crown's subjects gave me hell
Who am I?
So I have been stumped on this for days but don’t want to leave it with no response for now. I think it clearly is a king/ruler who died either on crusade or pushing his wife’s claim while also contending with domestic rebellion, but it’s really tough to narrow it down. Will give a full first guess shortly.

Henry II of England? Born in France, allied Eleanor and retook his claim on England from Stephen partially with her help, he greatly expanded English strength but dealt with rebellions from his sons.

Philip II of Macedon?

I don't think Philip matches ANY on the clues, much less all of them.
Philip fought to expand his kingdom, whereas our mystery king's main tool was diplomacy...although he had to fight a bit to claim the crown in the first place. A bit...wasn't a long war, more like just a march on the capital to oust the other claimant. And then a bit to maintain (not always successfully) his holdings, and on the other rulers' behalf due to his pacts...
According to contemporary chroniclers, he chose the death in battle over retreat. Since I'm cynic at heart, I feel it's quite possible that it was in fact arranged by his son, which would be possible due to king's medical condition.
It's been a week since last hint and even more since last guess. Alright, a big hint for now.
Despite all his achievements, this king is most well known for setting the stage for his firstborn son, who had all the talent and ambitions of the old man and then some and is considered one of the great monarchs of his time. Don't get too stuck up on the fringe theory I mentioned, there's no direct evidence.
If not King Philip of Macedon then probably Prince Philip.
-married the Queen of England even though he was from a distant country (Denmark, Greece or Germany, take your pick)
-they gave him hell in the media and in the press for speaking his truth
-he became a 100 year old walking meme, he certainly played his part on the world stage
-has dozens of legendary quotes
If you think that marriage is a battle, then I worry about you .
This one's not that hard I think if you don't fish and try a systematic search. You probably heard the name of this king only in relation to his firstborn son or the battle in which he died, but he's not hard to find. Simple, logical search will reveal his name within ten minutes, unless you're very slow reader. Just keep all the clues in mind.
It's been a week without any activity. Do you want a solution, or just a hint? It's really not hard, I've been repeating one thing here ad nauseam because that's really the best way how to find this guy. Start with that one clue, it'll narrow down the possibilities considerably.
John of Bohemia? Sorry I forgot about this and I didn't want to leave you hanging so I spent an hour scrounging Wiki for Kings killed in battle. He seems to fit quite well
