Can you change the campaign_script during a game?

What I want to do is edit the Timurid invasion (yet to come) to make it massive in an existing game.

Using an unpacked file, can I edit the campaign script to do this, or is the campaign script hardwired in at the start of a game (or as it's a yet to happen event can it be changed?).
