Guess the game from the cutscene.

So, there have not yet been any guesses, so here is a (double-)hint. The image here is from like the first three seconds of the intro video of the game. The image starts with just a blurry purplish background, and then focuses down to this face, after which the camera pulls away to show more of the guy's surrounding (which I am not going to tell about yet ).

If there aren't any guesses by tonight, I'll post a new hint to go with this (or maybe just another image). But as a sort of pre-hint, I am certain that a number of you have played this game, as I've either talked to you about it, or seen you talk about it when discussing other games. So this is not anything obscure.

Good man. I totally sympathized with the above posts of "I know that image", which is why I waited a moment, but I was sure a second pic would give it away in an instant. Anyway, the floor is yours Adrian.

I'm going to post two images because the PC intro has all the pixels that ever pixeled and it might be a bit hard to make out while the console version was not exactly popular enough to stand on its own. I tried to get the cleanest PC image possible.

Note that the PC and console intros have the same narration and music but show different animations.

This makes me think of the original Ghost Recon in a super strong way. Those funky up-ended trees, the washed-out coloring. Yeah, I would say this is the original (and best) Ghost Recon.
