Nowhere, they are sheep, almost aimless, not a trained strike force. Trump may well be on his way out of the country as we speak, to escape the near certain impeachment process/other legal remedy that will begin shortly after Biden's election is rapidly confirmed.

For weeks on end myself and other “lefties” have been bemoaning the brutal police response to largely peaceful demonstrations. I’ve kept telling people that BLM and Antifa aren’t a threat to the government and aren’t a threat to people. That the real threat is from right wingers who routinely show up armed and ready to fight. For years these warnings have gone on deaf ears.

It’s 2021, and it’s not BLM storming the Capitol. It’s the Trump cult. I don’t really care what conservatives say or do, you’ve had 4 years to fix and it’s culminated in DC, on this day. We don’t need you anymore. Democrats have full control of the government, and the only real obstacle are conservative Dem Senators like Joe Manchin. Time to clean up the mess you’ve left us. Again.

Not sure who or what the Trump mob is trying to illegally seize power from, but you can name it a coup if it makes you feel better about calling for them to be shot. Their only institutional support is the guy who will be out of office in a couple weeks. And yeah, I would estimate that the most expensive riots in modern US history last summer (a feature of BLM protests), comparable attacks on government buildings, or a BLM organizer calling looting “reparations,” for example, might not be covered by the right to peaceable assembly. The real question is how far you want to take these comparisons for their own sake.

About the raucous politics, its been consistent from Reagan's deliberate sabotaging Ford in 1976 down to the loyalty test of seeing who salutes the Trump Fraud Flag later today. The Oil Barons and the Pentecostals are making a public demonstration that they can and will shatter the Republican party unless they are given the chocolates.

I mean, the president's behavior was a factor. My perspective is that in close races, there is no one thing that costs a candidate the election, no single straw that broke the camel's back. We may never know for sure if Pres. Trump was the factor that did it, but we definitely don't know that right now because we lack the data. If you asked me last week, I would have been slightly favoring the Republican candidates in Georgia, because I thought that "get Trump out" was an easier sell than "allow Biden to enact anything by preventing Sen. McConnell's obstructionism". But it's possible that enough Republicans were going for Trump's reelection or bust.

Like I said, I hoped a Democratic federal trifecta would help the Republicans broaden their horizons, but the last few hours has shown us that it hasn't yet, and may not anytime. This is a very bad situation today.

Hmmm, well it looks like the Dems will take the Senate. Truthfully, the two candidates the Republicans had in Georgia were in the mold of Mitt Romney and Susan Collins. Good riddance. Both candidates tried to distance themselves from Trump during the election and only warmed up in the last few weeks. If you look across the board Trump supporters won a lot of seats.

I don't think that's true. Sen. Loeffler famously said that she has a "100% Trump voting record", and at 92.3%, she's almost right. Perdue is close behind at 91.7%, and he made some waves for saying he was more concerned about who leaked the embarrassing recording between president Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger than what was on it: the president demanding a state official to break the law for him. Based on that, Sen. Perdue probably would've licked Nixon's boots like a lollypop during Watergate, much less the current president's right now.

Now I disagree with you. This is terrible, Last year was terrible. If I were at a protest, when I heard gunshots, or saw flames, of heard glass break, it is time to go home. To stay there and keep my protest going would be to give cover to those that are breaking the law.

Meanwhile police are peacefully escorting some old lady out the capitol when not 6 or so months ago they pushed an elderly man on the floor and refused to help him.

There was an IED found. And nobody confronted these protesters. There’s literally footage of the “protesters” taking selfies with law enforcement. They are flying Confederate flags at the Capitol. The inadequate security at the Capitol and the slow police response was not Trump's fault. Frankly, it was the mayor's fault. 95% Democrats, it goes without saying that they have defanged the police when it comes to containing protests. The regulations there probably demand the police to profusely apologize to people that punch them for their faces hurting the assaulter's hand.
