Default does anyone knows if in this era there were guys shooting from horseback in regular armies?

im loving this mod, but i've got an idea...how about mounting some of this units in horses and make them like dragoons of Cossaks: european Wars? i sure loved to use them to kill people from afar... does anyone knows how the engine would react? cuz the AI of the soldiers certainly gets stupid beyond reason with all the guns around...so much hat some of the custom unofficial maps become impossible in SP, and really dodgy in MP... so im afraid this would ruin the gameplay...but i think we should have something of the sorts....like a model that has both a carbine, and a sword, being able to shoot from the top of the horse... it would revolutionise our battles...surely some armies used horseback shooting units in this time didn't it?

It did happen, but mostly during skirmishes and not in set-piece battles like the game portrays. In battles, the pistols were usually discharged during the charge or melee. Anyway, the A.I. doesn't deal well with mounted missile troops (it tries to keep them out of melee, yet Napoleonic cavalry was melee cavalry), and one cannot mod out such features as the Parthian shot, which obviously would be impossible to perform with a carabine. For these reasons, the Lordz decided not to include mounted missile troops.
