I love cats you know that, but my mother has a sort of insane affection for them; you should see her 2 Chihuahuas, those "things" already have ego problems, but the cats are really bullying them, the poor "things" have to remain closed in home when no human is around .. I seldom saw in my life such arrogance and boldness as those cats, soon they'll start to have tattoos and dress in code colors, I'm sure

What is that contraption that they are guarding? The one with some kind of tubing presumably going through the wall.

That is absolutely fascinating. Even for a person that is no Mr. Fixit or heating and plumbing oriented. I have never seen one before. Where do the tubes go? And, perhaps more importantly, what is it that goes within that tube? Gas? Doesn't the hole in the wall make things worse and invite the cold air in from the outside?

Much respect for the cats and their diligent service in making sure that the gas heating device does not fall prey to rodents or other undesirable factions. Please do not interpret my interest in this heating solution as lack of interest towards cats.
