Because of Socialisation with mother and siblings. You should not give a kitten before the 12th week away.

I'm sorry I can't post any picture of my cats, you know when you have kids, daughters in particular, they simply monopolize your phone's camera, that is

However, what about cat's names? You all know that I am a mean dude, and I used to have peculiar names for my cats (for dogs as well, if you wonder ), because I used to keep for myself the most unique ones (usually with some blatant defect/characteristic).. some examples

    - Dayan (from Moshe Dayan); since he is white and has a black spot on the head and left eye, like a bend .. he is still alive despite being 16 or 17 I think
    - Bellosguardo (Blinkin, from Robin Hood: Men in Tights); the lad was born blind, but he was able to survive for 3 years before being flattered by a car.. the dude was crazy, I loved that lad, he could do the silliest things ever (like jumping down from the roof without any apparent reason).
    - Van Gogh; it was a red cat, who was injured by his brothers when he was 3 months or so and lost one auricle.. one day he just disappeared out in the blue, he probably killed himself like his homonym
    - Orso (bear); dudes, that was a huge cat, largest I've seen in my life; dark brown siamese like (very dark), over 6 kg.. a vary bad character, he was the king of the road and even dogs avoided to piss him off; when he died around 10 he was like Ken Shiro, covered with scars and with the same fur of an old carpet
    - Puzza (stink); she was affected by a strange form of aerophagy, when she was born she had a huge belly and everybody assumed she was going to die, but she survived and she became a nice gray cat.. you only aid to avoid to stay behind her when she was walking up the stairs..
    - Barney (from The Flintstones); the cat had this curious mix of yellowish head and legs and darker body which reminded the character, though he was as well as dumb as him; the most stupid cat I ever had, he injured himself in so many ways that I don't know how he managed to survive for so long (for instance he used to go to sleep in the pot of a prickly pear, he managed to get punched so many times he was so used to it that I could take the thorns out myself without the need to go veterinary); nothing so say, sometimes the nature is bugged

I also had more normal cats, but who really wants to have a normal cat, when you can have a crazy one?

Those are great names and great stories, but I think the greatest cat name is still Chairman Meow.

This was such a disappointment. Don't get me wrong; I am very much a cat person and have had two back in the day. But when I saw the title I thought that there is finally a thread for computerized axial tomography. Well, at least there were pictures of cats, which is always a good thing.

Didn't you read the OP? Computerized axial tomography is an honorary feline.

I did. The disappointment came as I read the OP, being lured into the thread by the capitalized CAT title implying tomography. I am only disappointed at the lack of tomography content, not by cat content as such.

LILY is a beautiful creature. She has the same color and pattern as one of my cats, although she looks a lot more delicate in frame than mine who was half Norwegian forest cat and quite a robust fellow.

On second thought, Lily's thick paws may indicate that she is a strong cat just the same but with much shorter hair. Norwegian forest cats are big balls of hair and especially so in the winter time. Unfortunately, I have no photo at hand at the moment.

    About this time last year we were having a face to face meeting with this rather relaxed pussy cat;

(That's not a zoom lens pic - he was very relaxed and on a mound and we were in a truck passing by)

Can you tell whether cats are happy or not from their facial expression? Try the quizz:

That was in South Luangwa National Park, in Zambia. Somewhere I've got a pic looking back at the 4wd behind us when they were next to the Leopard to show how close it was, but can't find it...

You're never meant to get that close to the wild cats even if they don't mind! But he was on the mound at the side of the only available river crossing, so we had to go past... and of course, we had to go past very, very, slowly so as not to scare him!

The cat facial expression thing seems fairly easy - it's normally just a matter of looking at the ear position.
